I'm . I am just saying £68 is a hell of a lot of money for a weekend stay 2 nights for a family of 4 @ ferry meddows next weekend not on Easter weekend! And don't get me rong but its a standard site in a standard location.

...I do not think you can call The location of Ferry Meadows as "standard"which is shown by the Friday arrival "frenzy"Wink

Write your comments here... It's not Chatsworth, York or Sandringham  so yes I feel ferry meadows is

...If you mean its easier to get a pitch than the others then i agree but the area is outstanding

Write your comments here...just  means the ground rent Must be less for the club!

    ...do not understand that?

sorry ment to say I am guessing th club must pay more money for the location for some sites eg York, longleet Chatsworth I can't imgine ferry meadows being the one of them especially when only a few weeks back we payed £47 for three. I love the site just
find £68 a lot for just two nights when in the past it has cost us £55

    at the most!

maybe the first time but this is a debate that happens very regularly and everyone has to follow their script.

Speaking of which - We haven't had a CL owner join in to tell us that CLs are better.

Unusual not to have one though NTH.

One usually pops in to tell us. Just like when someone asks a specific question about calor they get told to buy refillables.

Earlier on in the thread, attention was drawn to the 'kids for a penny' increasing to £1, a 99% increase. It is an increase of ten thousand percent. Add in 'peak season' extension and price rises. Pips, squeezing, squeak! The bean counters have taken over, as in so many other areas of life.

opps that was me -  forgot to multiply by 100Embarassed, but we're both incorrect, its 9900%  (increase/orginalx100)

extension material for the gifted and talented, what would have been the % increase if it was kids go free?

I thought the CC had introduced the kids for £1 at more sites than were covered by the 1p charge. If so whilst for some the cost will increase, for others there will be a significant reduction.

indeed, it was pretty good deal last year, got some complaints from my 18+ year old children when I had them arrive on site dressed in their old school uniform.

if the price 'before' was 'kids a penny' and youre asking what the % increase would be if they were changed to 'free'.....??

answer, no increase at all......isnt this a reduction?

...no doubt, this could be expressed as a negative increase?

    sorry, Corners, see me!

no. read the question that is there, not the question you think is there. (taking exams 1-01)

If it was (past tense, ie in the past) kids go free and now it is kids for a £1, what is the % increase?

Maybe the reason for the "Kids" increase is that we off peakers no longer use CC sites because they are too expensive and the alternatves are better value. We used to subsdise the "holiday" periods with the high off peak charges

corners, you and CY were discussing kids at a pound and its relative increase over the original penny.

    you then added this question....

"extension material for the gifted and talented, what would have been the % increase if it was kids go free?"

if you really were trying to compare the new 'pound' rate to 'kids go free' (which is what your are wriggling toward) then you need to spend more time on your (ambiguous) English as well as your Maths.

this might help.....if this is what you were really asking...

"extension material for the gifted and talented, what would have been the % increase if the original offer had been 'kids go free'?

    Sorry, Corners, See me, again!

If I'm remembering correctly certain members raised enormous objection to the 'kids for 1p' (CC's words not mine Husky) so perhaps that's an example of something the CC has taken on board?
