if we are talking about similar products just a few prices for a couple only and one van/MH including electrics.

Troutbeck Head site in the lakes

Easter peak is £30 per night down to £20 off peak later in April (who says the club doesn't put its prices up in peak)

The quiet site a few miles away

Peak £35 per night down to £20 Friday - Sunday and £15 Mon - Thursday

Castlerigg site near keswick peak £32 down to £25 off peak

Hills on Windermere peak BH £41,  peak £39 down to £22 (also 3/4 min stay on BH)

    Skelwith Fold Ambleside is £31 plus £3.60 EHU = £34.50 (+ £3.60 awning + £2 dog) down to low of £22 + 3.60 EHU = £25.60

So it would appear that the club is slighly cheaper than most on peak but more or less line off peak. Of course a small sample but you could so the same in your chosen area.

As been said many times if you can find a cheaper place that suits your needs then go outside the club.

I've been on many 'commercial' sites and they too can be very quiet at certain times of the year, in fact some CC club sites are more 'lively' and enjoyable to be on during these so called off peak times! Now I know it's a personal opinion but I'd rather
keep those differences that we enjoy as a 'club' and would not want all sites to be reduced to the same commercial formula!

I think that last sentence sums up the situation perfectly mickey. The club offers an ALTERNATIVE to all singing, all dancing commercials. It's good to have that alternative. Won't suit some, obviously, but that's entirely up to them.Happy

some on here do remind me of James Dean - what do you want to rebel (aka complain) against about the club now - what have you got?

Ian, in case you missed my last post, I'll repeat.

It's all about personal choice and not inflicting one's preferences on others.

I'm genuinely sorry to see you jumping on the bandwagon with those whose kneejerk reaction is simply to condemn everything CC.

Moulesy, I don't see anyone trying to inflict their preference on anyone. Certainly that isn't my intention.

But this is a discussion forum.

Would you prefer it if every new thread simply had a series of new comments saying "I agree"?

I'm not jumping on any bandwagon......I just want to see the CC improve and to thrive. I want them to react to their members' comments and suggestions (even to acknowledge them would be a pleasant start!)

As I've said before, to simply say that everything that the CC do is perfect in every way (whatever they do!) will not help them to improve.

We have seen countless examples posted, showing that the CC are generally at the upper end of the pricing scale (and increasingly so each year). They have reached the point where they are secretly trying to sell off sites. Surely reality must strike at some
    point...

I agree completely they are a fab club but if they carry on increasing the price each year we won't be able to enjoy they as much as we did very sadDon't cry

Totally agree, for those that want that commercial experience let them go for that! Each to their own I say afterall the club seems to be an attractive viable option for others, long may that difference continue!

All I know is that for our family of four in peak season club sites tend to work out cheaper than commercial sites.

In off peak times there isn't much of a difference and I do think there's scope to tweak things a bit if it would see people using sites more.

have noticed the rise in prices some far more than others, this will mean we will not be spending as many days on CC sites as in previous years. There are many private sites which offer the same facilities for less money.

A rather arrogant post TW, if you don't mind me saying.

As one of those who cannot abide any criticism of the CC, I would suggest that yours is the extremist view, I'm afraid.

You need to accept that there may be a different view to your own.......and that people with a different viewpoint to yours are not necessarily wrong.

That is a masterclass in arrogance, Ian, so I certainly object to you labelling my post as arrogant. Where do you get the idea that I don't tolerate criticism of CC? You certainly have a twisted view there and clearly haven't read all my posts. You are jumping on the bandwagon of assumption. If you'd read what I've already said carefully you will see that I have not supported CC and I have said I don't care what people do for their holidays which also equates to allowing them to hold their own beliefs. I agree there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism but the word 'constructive' can scarcely be applied here.

I know you get great enjoyment from winding people up and do it deliberately so I'll treat your post as the joke it is.

sorry ment to say I am guessing th club must pay more money for the location for some sites eg York, longleet Chatsworth I can't imgine ferry meadows being the one of them especially when only a few weeks back we payed £47 for three. I love the site just
find £68 a lot for just two nights when in the past it has cost us £55

    at the most
