Thanks

I crossed to France on 29th January and came back last Sunday 29th March. The EES is yet to start in either direction although all the facilities buildings seem to be complete on both sides of the Channel.

I spoke to a couple of staff in January about the delay and they were of the opinion that it was unlikely to be implemented before the summer, as to try and bed it in during the peak period would create absolute chaos !

How about on Harwich to Hook of Holland. We are out on a May 12th crossing, back via Eurotunnel 4th June.

Dover has been delayed for a bit. Remember it is only Dover and St Pancras that implement EES this side of the channel. Everywhere else is on the mainland side.

Le Shuttle has all the hardware and staffing in place but is currently awaiting confirmation from the French authorities of the date for the technical availability of their central system before this can be fully launched.

The Dutch say their system is up and running at Hook of Holland - with automated DIY machines to take photographs, fingerprints and passport details of UK passengers arriving.
Reports from those passengers say it might only take ten minutes to get through the system, but it might take an hour or so. The trick seems to be managing to be the first to drive off the ship . Good luck.
