Hi off to Chateau du l’epervie in the summer on a fully serviced pitch. Just wondering if anyone has used this system there and if they encountered any problems?

Cheers Mrs Murdy

I'd contact the site to check tap fitting etc. A serviced pitch in France is not a common thing.

Their "Grand Confort" and "Premium" pitches are all fully serviced

Lutz, I don't think there is any question that the pitches are fully serviced. What I was trying to say is in my experience, the availability of serviced pitches on French campsites is not the norm and so the type of water fittings are unknown. If you read the OP's post title of "Whale tap to inlet pipe in France" this is what I believe he was suggesting he wants to know and hence my reply to contact the site. Then nobody would be guessing and they would have a definitive answer.

EDIT - we stayed there in 2010 when we had a trailer tent and were fortunate enough to have a lakeside pitch. It is a very attractive site just a short walk or cycle from the river. Our son was less fortunate as he was in a pup tent and was disturbed every night by some type of large water rodent that was working it's way between his inner and outer tent fabric. As a grumpy teenager he was not amused.

When I see the photo accompanying the "Grand Confort" pitch on the website of Chateau de l'Épervière depicting a water point, it seems to be the same standard ½" connection that one comes across pretty much everywhere.

Probably worth taking one of these Hoselock fittings with you as it will fit half an threequarter inch fittings,

We have a serviced pitch on L'Eperviere at some point most years, it's a favourite stop over, the tap connectors are completely standard as in the UK. No problem at all.

My suggestion would be that if it is not the standard "screw type" connector on the tap outlet, then you would not be alone in having a problem and I am confident that the "reception office" will either be able to sell you a connector or loan you one. I can think of only one site in Spain where we had this problem and generally we always try and head for a serviced pitch - UK or Europe. I really would not worry yourself too much. Have a great holiday
