can anyone recommend a good site near Vilamoura

We're taking our caravan over to Portugal later this year, aiming to be in Vilamoura early July for our daughters wedding. The plan is to stop off at a number of CAMC sites on the way down , spending a few days at each one, making our way from Santander across the top of Spain then down the coast of Portugal. The closest CAMC site that i can find near Vilamoura is almost an hours drive away near Lagos. Can anyone recommend a good safe and secure site thats closer and accepts caravans. We're new to caravanning, recently retired, travelled a little around the UK last year and this will be our first trip across the water.

    May. I say gently that there are no CAMC sites in mainland Europe. All sites there are either owned by families or by commercial companies. Now there are some of them where the Club has made an arrangement to make reservations for members and some where they haven’t. You can choose whatever and wherever you wish.
    I don’t know Villamoura but Google is telling me what sites are available in the area, and for a wedding you just need the closest. Because you will need a taxi back after the reception. You won’t be driving. I hope you have a good time.

    Its a while since I visited the area, no doubt it has undergone considerable development. The site I used to use (Camping Quateira) has closed down but, I understand another has opened in Vilamoura itself, called Vilamoura Rustic Motorhome & Caravan Park (Adults Only 18+) I know nothing about the site but, in this case it maybe the location might be the priority rather than anything else. The only other site I am aware of is Albufeira Camping. It used to be popular with over wintering outfits and is listed by ACSI. I visited it many years ago but not stayed on it and it looked then.
