Twin Axles in France
There has been some historical evidence of French campsites either being reluctant or refusing twin axle caravans access. If anyone has recently travelled to France with a twin axle caravan, could you comment on your experience with French campsites. Thanks in advance for any information.

By and large it has mainly been at a few municipal campsites where the local mayor has been keen to keep out groups of what I have to call “travellers”. Few commercial sites have enforced that rule - having lost so many customers who have migrated to Motorhome aires they need all the business they can get without turning customers away. But if you are anxious phone ahead and ask. And bear in mind that space and size of pitches can be more of a problem, especially on older sites which were not designed for the modern breed of leviathans. Good wishes.

We spent the whole of June in France this year with our 8ft twin axle. Stayed at 4 different sites with no problem at all,. Because we had never ventured abroad before with our caravan, we booked our ferry and the first site via the CAMC. The other 3 sites we booked on the campsites own websites but first read the terms and conditions to check that twin wheelers were allowed (and max length). None of the sites we stayed at were municipal sites though.
