Some overseas sites are taking bookings now. Contact the sites you want and ask.

If you are going out of the main holiday season is there any need to book? ACSI is wrth a look out of season. You could always give the Overseas Department a ring?

It is already possible to book some sites through the club or directly with the sites. As mentioned, ACSI is well worth a look for out of season, but sites and prices will not be released until end of December. For NL the ACSI is not so cut and dry as the time slots seem to stop and start around a significant number of short national holidays. We also found in 2022 that the sites in NL booked up quickly compared with France.

For 2026 we are looking at May/June in NL and August/Sept in France. Our first step is booking the crossings. Bookings for crossings are live and we will do this over the next month or so to attract the lower prices. We will do some direct with the operators, but possibly one with the club. This will be a Eurotunnel return leg as crossings are very frequent and we have found some flexibility at the terminal when turning up early, so do not need to worry about contacting the club to alter times, a process that members have found difficult. We juggle the dates so as to get the most economical 31 days apart prices that will then fit in with Red Pennant cover. In Dec/Jan we will finalise our choice of sites/area that we wish to visit and may book a couple of sites. We have already booked our French site foe 2026 and in fact 2027 as it is a popular riverside pitch.

Beware! We came across sites where the owner had set aside certain pitches for sale at reduced rates to holders of the ACSI Camping Card, and had also allocated a number of pitches to CAMC to sell on to members at lower prices too. In both cases they were smaller, less attractive, less well situated pitches, while the site owner was taking reservations himself at full price for bigger pitches in better positions. That doesn’t happen everywhere by any means, but we found it to be how things worked at several sites in the far south of France.

We found that as well @eurortraveller especially in the Netherlands, even Delftse Hout. We turned up there after making a booking for just a 1 night stay, got confirmation back then when we arrived they had no trace. I showed them the email and they upgraded me due to mix up from their normal ACSI pitch to one I would happily stayed on for longer. Their ACSI pitches are OK but a bit worn out. Also given a smaller pitch on another site, again in NL, and told we could pay for upgrade.

As @eribaMotters says the NL can get busy and sometimes it is best to book if you want a specific site. We had no problems making bookings around Christmas time for May/June times. Look out for their National holidays plus Pentecost and Ascension for really busy times.

I was planning on Delftse Hout for 2026 as we liked the site and it's location when we visited in 2022. Unfortunately it is no longer ACSI.
