Hi all, we just wanted to come on here to any of you sitting on the fence, deciding whether to take out Red Pennant ahead of any travels abroad.

Without a doubt you must take this insurance out as its invaluable when things go wrong, and believe me they went wrong big time a few years ago......to cut a long story short over the course of January 2023 we had to call them no less of three times due to various reasons but every time they were there to pick up the pieces!

So, if you are thinking about it, stop thinking and just buy as no other insurer comes close to the service they provide.

Agreed ! Without Red Pennant I would hesitate to take my outfit abroad. - It's complete peace of mind, run by an excellent, professional and compassionate team from East Grinstead .

I have used RP in the past and got a quote this year for a standard 34 day trip (motoring only) but it is just too expensive for my age and outfit and my requirements. I used Nationwide (Flex Plus account) this year for both health and breakdown, a similar price to RP but it covered us both for health and breakdowns in both UK and Europe for a year for both car and motorhome.

When we toured abroad we always used to take out RP. Had to make use of their services a coulple of times. I always liked the joined up nature of the insurance so you were only dealing with one contact point. It was always reassuring to be able to chat to someone who understood the issues you sometimes get when touring.

The motorhomers whom I know (both of them) have vehicle breakdown insurance as part of a package with their annual motorhome insurance with a well known company. If they go overseas they take out a single trip policy for medical cover as well - and the price of that depends on their age and state of health
