Tailgate tents are they allowed on club sites?

Regarding CL Sites and roof tents, CL Sites do have the option to accommodate roof tents, but we are expecting it to be more relevant for those with facilities on site. It is on their certificate, but as independent business owners, it is their decision if they accept roof tents.

@Rowena why then is this statement included in the FAQs for Tent Boxes?
Who can stay at a Certificated Location (CL)Our Certificated Location (CL) network is exclusive to members. The CLs are set up to accommodate up to five caravans, motorhomes or trailer-tents at one time. At present roof tent camping is not permitted at our CLs.1 -
@nelliethehooker Of course it's sensible for those units who do not have a toilet to use sites with facilities, that wasn't my point and didn't even mention that. My point was about the ban on CLs having tent boxes from the club having nothing to do with having a toilet or not.
As to your CL owner if he wants to 'risk' losing his CL that's up to him, personally I think that if any owner wants to use the CL 'brand' and its benefits then they should conform to the rules? Again for me, I don't equate ignoring encouragement as a force being applied?

It rather sounds as though the “rules” are somewhat confusing to be honest, around roof box tents. If it’s part of the Certificate, then it becomes a question of if the CL owner considers them practical, and wants to include them in the outfits that the CL might be suitable for accommodating. I would guess the same could be said of tailgate tents as well. There’s a financial aspect to it of course, both are growing trends, and as long as the CL users take out Membership, it shouldn’t prevent staying if the CL owner is happy to provide for them. I am sure the financial aspect is why the Club are backtracking on previous outfit suitability, so if it applies to Club Sites, why not give CLs the choice? Makes sense.
