Hook of Holland

I am thinking of fitting in a short break to holland early Sept and wonder if anyone knows of a site close to the port for an overnight stop. Arrival time in port will be cutting it fine to make the first site before closing time.

Regards

Haven't stopped at the first mentioned but it's only a mile from the port and apparently opens late.

Have stayed for 3 nights on the second when catching a ferry home. Decent site near the beach. Not sure what time it closes though. It did at the time I stayed take ACSI but I haven't rejoined for the last 2 years. It's about 2 miles from port.

We stayed for a week at Delft in 2022 before returning to the UK.

    Accommodaties | Delftse Hout

It is ACSI and C&MC. A fantastic location next to the town and a short distance from the ferry back. We would definitely stay there again.

I assume you are using the Stena Line day crossing ? I have used Delftse Hout twice over the last year from this ferry, which arrives at 17.15 in Hook of Holland. The site is c. 45 mins from the port (all main roads) so realistically you will arrive 18.45 to 19.00, which is no problem for checking in. Out of courtesy I e-mailed the site to let them know I was going to arrive at this time. The site is excellent and as Colin says in a very good location to visit Delft (20 min walk), and as Delft is on a main train line it is also easy to get to The Hague, Amsterdam etc. If you are getting the afternoon 14.15 ferry home then again it is convenient as leaving by the required 11.00 get you to Hook of Holland in good time for the ferry check in.

You can book via the Club or direct at https://www.delftsehout.co.uk/

With a ferry arrival at 1715 you can actually drive up to Amsterdam if you wish . It’s only 50 miles and CamperPark Amsterdam ( 300 bookable motorhome pitches at the former Gaasper Camping ) has automated check in up to 2245. Then next day walk to metro to ride into the city.
