As it says, France went live a few days ago and Spain today.

I thought the C&MC say they undercut but it would appear they do not with this operator. I'm also aware it's best to go direct as you can change bookings etc more easily. So I did a comparison on the same crossings with same cabin arrangements.

Plymouth - Roscoff with overnight cabin out in May and daytime back in June about £500 going direct. With the C&MC £560-£580

Plymouth - Santander with overnight both ways, April out and May back about £920 or £1,000 to £1200 with C&MC.

I'm not a member of Brittany Ferries Club Voyager member and the Friends & family discount is no longer available.

I do not know if it is worth joining for a single return crossing, but I'm sure somebody can let me know.

My daughter is planning to go back to Lisbon in Portugal next Spring. She went last year and loved it.

She can pay the£1000 return fare for the ferry to Santander and then drive the remaining 500 miles. Or she can get a direct flight with EasyJet for £80 p.p return and find an apartment in the centre of the city with AirbNb.

Caravanning is for the rich these days.

Colin, I still think those ferry prices are outrageous, but you might find that the reason the Club’s ferry prices appear to be dearer is because they include the cost of a basic grade overnight cabin, whereas if you book directly with the ferry company the cabin price has to be added on as an extra. That’s how it used to be in previous years. Is it still so? I haven’t checked.

eurotraveller, I've done it on a like for like basis, including cabin on overnight crossings when booked directly.

For 2025 I booked very early as usual, and got the "Friends & Family" price of £480 for my Plymouth - Roscoff, late August overnight out and September daytime back. These tie in with the 2026 prices available to all, to it looks like Brittany Ferries are in real terms holding prices down.

I really don’t recall clearly, but doesn’t the club throw in a few free nights staying at campsites?

Doing a mock booking on the club website I wasn’t offered different ticket types, therefore I assume it’s the standard one. Booking almost a year ahead I prefer to pay the extra cost and go for the fully flexible version. Booking direct with BF this can be amended online with minimal fuss. However, they’ve changed their terms and condition since last I booked and the deposit required has doubled. As mentioned the price quoted on the club site does include a basic cabin. Although if you change this for a better one the original remains unless you delete it. As that wasn’t visible on the screen, I was momentarily shocked by the price.

I recently booked our long 2026 winter getaway to Portugal. Booking to Spain and return it was considerably cheaper with BF than through CAMC, plus much greater flexibility should we need to make changes at short notice. I also like the simplicity of booking directly with BF.
