Hi @hostahousey I think it's because you are no longer showing as a Club member. We only allow Club member's to post images on the forum. We do have a trusted forum participant status for those who have been regular posters but have left the Club as for example, no longer touring. As such as a long standing contributor I can set this up for you. Drop me an email communitymanager@camc.com 😀

😁A teenager yet then, my established ones are between 6ft and 10 ft, so they are a good “back of border” plant. I plant seeds around February, in a greenhouse (unheated) then leave them to come up. I plant into ordinary compost, in a shallow ish tray, (mushroom packaging is really good if you put holes into bottom of trays) then prick out seedlings into individual pots, or those six pack plant trays, as they get stronger. If you don’t want the tediousness of pricking out, you could simply put say three seeds into one 3inch pot, and discard weakest seedlings. (A single seed pod might yield around 30 new plants!) Once they are big enough, and there’s little frost risk, May onwards here in S Yorks, I plant where I want them, leave them to get stronger in their first year. They will either die back until the next Spring, or over Winter in leaf if it’s mild, then start to get new leaves, get taller and eventually flower. They like Sun and fairly dry conditions. That said, I have some in dappled shade doing well, it not as tall. You might lose a few after a few years, or if it’s really wet, you might even get them self seeding as well, but they aren’t invasive. Once your HH has finished flowering, let the seed pods dry out, then come late Autumn, simply cut off the flowering stem at around six inch from ground. Save seeds somewhere dry. Envelopes are good, plastic bags aren’t.
If you get hooked like me, ask Ro for my email address, and I will send you some different colours through the post👍😁

Thanks for all the info TTDA , I’ll give it a try .

I have never tried with HH’s, but doubt they are deep rooted. I have moved Foxgloves ok. You could try it, once you have the seed pods. At least then you can grow more if it doesn’t like it’s new location. Let me know how it goes on please👍

Sorry again, but the ringed items don’t come up on my page. I must admit I’m not very IT literate .-1

I think the discussion on posting photos has been swallowed up amongst all the other stuff. It’s not easy to find things here these days.🙄

Hostahousey, Alternatively get the Plantnet app and post the picture of your unknown plant there. Someone, somewhere will tell you what it is. That app and the answers are all free of charge.

The order of the posts in this thread is ridiculous at times as they keep moving around!
The icons are in the comments box, HH, as per my pic. If you’re not seeing them, you probably need to contact Rowena.

No there’s no icons Tinwheeler. How do I contact Rowena I’ve tried to find a contact to no avail. This is getting ridiculous. I think I’ll forget it .0

For future reference, it’s in Community Guidelines.

@hostahousey I had a problem with missing icons in my comment reply box. Rowena fixed it quickly for me. Don’t give up, I want to see what your rogue plant is😁

Can't get the @hostahousey - correction it was just being troublesome!

Ps @hostahousey I've reported your post about lack of icons in your comment box. Hopefully there'll be a response on here as well as it being fixed

Well thanks everyone for your suggestions. But it’s getting so complex now and not being IT literate I’m going to give it a miss, so again thanks for your help0

Don’t give in. Many of us are self taught old fogeys and if we can get by, so can you.

houstahousey- Re google lens. All my photos are stored on my PC in Google Photos. If I open a photo ( say a scene or a plant) and right click, Google Lens is shown as an option. Clicking on Google Lens will then hopefully tell you what the photo is about. Try it and see if it works. Google Lens can also be downloaded as an App on your phone.0

What a sensible move, Rowena, for obvious reasons👏🏻👏🏻

Did not realise because I finished touring ( old age ) I am no longer classed as a member . Joined in 20160

Think the 2016 date must be when I stopped touring.0

I think most of us old timers show as 2016. Wasn’t that when CT#2 was launched? (The original #1 being in 2012.)

Think your right Tinwheelerr0

I’ve sent an email to Rowena asking for set up to photos. Waiting for reply.0

@hostahousey I transitioned to “non member” last year, still showed up as a Member for a while, but then became a “trusted participant”. It’s done for Forum safety, there have been a couple of occasions where not very nice photos have appeared, dealt with promptly, but the Club are rightly being very wary. Not everyone who stops posting leaves because they want to, if you get my drift😉 And it’s not uncommon for the odd poster to re appear under a different name. So, sure Rowena will sort this out for you, it only took a couple of days for me.

Rowena’s allowed me access to posting photo’s . So now I can reveal the unknown self seeded plant. Anyone know what it is ?
Thanks again Rowena

The Lens app says it is a variety of Cucurbita pepo, the pumpkin family.
