That’s New
When accessing CT this evening a page flashed up saying checking you are human. Only there for a few seconds. Fortunately it decided I was.😂 Anyone else seen this?

I get frequent occurrences of "Looks like you’re new here". Yeah, right🙄.

Agreed, but nice if they mentioned it though. Just had it again and it took a bit longer to establish I wasn’t an alien this time. I don’t know how it does decide, often with those I’m not a robot checks you have to identify buses or traffic lights on such small pictures it’s just about impossible on a phone.

I've had it a lot as I've popped on today inbetween cleaning new units/freezer/worktops in the utility room and put stuff in the new cupboards.
Never has it asked me for any verification. Even when it said I'd been blocked previously, I tried half an hour ir so later no issue.
All very very Odd. I keep a tab open and logged in on my phone.

I'm getting it everytime I hit the back button. When I use the @, although not this time! And even when I load the next page on a thread.
@rowena @Rowena can you have a read through the thread and let us know what's happening. It's very frustrating! There are fewer and fewer posts on club together and if this continues I'll be making my exit - shame as I feel I have friends among the regular posters.....

Sometimes it happens, sometimes it refuses to work so I give up trying to read it. It’s like the bad old days of endless server errors.

@Tinwheeler I am not getting it at all.🤷♀️ Wonder if it’s anything to do with the changes to how you move around the website ie there’s now a small drop down box at top left of screen to access things like Discussions, rather than the banner that was across the top? Last time it was tried was when I lost the ability to post photos🤔 I much preferred the banner across the top. Don’t think the notifications are working as well either now.

I have an update. There has been an issue with the reCAPTCHA tool, which we think is related to this. The forum support are investigating this further and will get back to me.
Regarding the @ mentions issue, the forum support are doing quite a bit of work on that functionality currently so this should be tested thoroughly and resolved soon.
I will let you know as soon as I have any further updates.

That’s correct @Freddy55 It was possible to reach other areas of CT via a a green horizontal banner across the top of the page. Also, there was a bell icon in the top right hand corner of the page, so you knew how many times you had been tagged (@) This is no longer there, and you have to click on your avatar to see notifications instead.

The only issue I have had with the horizontal banner is its occasional disappearance to be replaced by the mentioned drop down. On my iPad it has never been green however, always the same colour as the rest of the text. Notifications have always been OK with a red number appearing alongside the bell when there is one. It looks like, as is often the case, your device / OS determine what you see.

I've not had any problems, its possible not only the OS but how you have set up your preferences in the notifications menu? Click on the bell and in the top right of the drop down is a menu.

These are changes from original layout. The green horizontal strap was across the top, and it was there you clicked to go to Discussions, Home, Groups, etc….
The black circle shows the drop down box you now have to use to access the headings above.
The red circle, where my avatar is, used to have a bell and letter icon, along with the search icon and your avatar. You now have to click on your avatar to see the notifications, or at least I do, they are no longer visible without this.

@Takethedogalong Are you using an iPad because I have nothing like what your describe on my PC or Android tablet?
The colours might be down to your theme settings?
