@Wherenext that is a CL that I have thought about stopping at near the M6 when travelling up or down, so I would appreciate your opinion of it, and if there is anything in the surrounding area that would be of interest to us both.

This is our view today looking towards the northern fells of the Forest of Bowland

The CL is excellent for what it provides, namely easy access, 5 Hardstanding pitches, virtually level, the pitches in a semi circle. Its less than a 100 yards from the main road, which is quiet most of the time. Basic facilities, no toilet block, are good. EHU included in the nightly fee of £15 which is a bargain these days. You might need a second cable if on one of the outer 2 pitches as only 1 main electric point.
A convenient pub opposite the cricket ground. As far as I could see and from the limited knowledge I have of the area there isn't a great deal to keep you occupied. The nearest attractions would be Dorothy Clive's Garden, a few miles westward and Trentham Gardens in Stoke. I couldn't see any Public Footpaths but then again I wasn't looking for them.
It makes for a handy stopover. We were travelling east to west but North/South works as M6 not far away.
Sorry I can't help any further.

That's just what I was after, looks like a good stop-off site for us, thanks @Wherenext

@nelliethehooker - One thing I forgot to mention was it has poor wifi reception as it sits in a bowl.

Thanks @Wherenext I will keep that in mind, although I suppose it also depends on ones network.

@nelliethehooker - thought you might like to know that a recent review on Onneley CL mentions good dog walking from site. Just noticed it as I've done a review.
