@peedee where is everyone? - perhaps working?
But just enjoy it PD as I notice the national picture (apart from the Scotland and D&C) looks good indeed for this BH weekend and in the usual popular regions very good indeed.
I see the SP are full on Saturday and low on Sunday there but good to see you're using club sites, though I would assume that you're on a non electric pitch as you don't like using non metered sites or rather prefer metering? Or have you taken advantage of the non EHU option?
Have a good time

Hiya @nelliethehooker . I suppose that overall I’d have to say it was a bit of a letdown, mostly due to the weather. Of course, one has to expect bad weather and to be fair, it didn’t rain every day, but it was pretty much cloudy and cold every day, rarely making it above 15c. On the odd occasion we did get glimpses of the scenery, it was very uplifting. With better weather, I’m sure it would have been magnificent, such a pity. Another problem was the gout, which meant walking was minimal, I imagine there would be lots a great walks to be had, although my knees are not great for hill walking these days. I was fearful of the midges, but I only got bitten a few times, even though there were plenty about, I guess the Avon So Soft helped. We stayed at Moffat, Oban, Skye and Glencoe, my favourite being Oban, I do prefer the smaller sites. Least favourite was Skye. Nothing wrong with the site as such, just too remote.
Although we did the train from Fort William to Malaig (which turned into a disaster), it would have been nice to get one or two boat trips, but it would have been miserable. On the way back down (south), with much improved weather, we stayed at the Keswick site which we have been to several times now, and remains one of my favourite sites - we always stay in the Barn Field. After that we stayed at the Kendal site, which I was really impressed with.
I suppose the upside of the trip was that we had good company, we get on really well.
Would I go back to Scotland? Maybe, but it was a bit of a drag, with one or two legs taking up to five hours driving (roads were good though) and it would probably be a spontaneous decision, based on expected weather overall. I am minded though to stay south of the border, lots of places I haven’t been. As you know, the trip was planned well in advance, so it was always a bit of a lottery.0 -
Such a shame about the weather @Freddy55 you were about 3 weeks too late I guess. We have found that mid May is best for the west coast, and one is there before the wee beasties too then. Hope you have a better experience should you decide to go that far north again.

View this morning looking out across the river from caravan door at Le Moulin Fort, Francueil in the Loire. I than walked around the back of the van to catch the balon disappearing into the sun.
