European Ferry Booking
Does anyone have any tips how to get a ferry booking through CAMC?
I can book the sites but when I try to include the ferry it advises they are unable to retrieve crossings. (Brittany ferries)
Failing that does anyone have a code for a Club Voyage account.

The Club Voyage for friends and family discount has now ceased to be available. If you are just doing one return trip a year it is not worth signing up for your own account. If you are doing two I think it is financially a good idea. Membership also brings some freebies.
If you book a crossing through the club then you do usually have access to a reduced price, but it is not always cheaper. One problem with club bookings is when/if you need to make a change. The office may be closed and you will incur a fee. Going direct to the operator often results in changes being able to be made without a cost being incurred. Brittany Ferries at present did have a free upgrade from Standard to Flexi.
Booking crossing and campsites through the club does have one advantage in that you are booking a holiday package and are covered by an insurance. Also if you have not already considered Red Pennant I would advise you take it out.
If you are not tied to Brittany Ferries and are over 60, I would advise looking at Newhaven-Dieppe crossings with DFDS. We live in Devon and Plymouth-Roscoff with Brittany Ferries is the logical choice for us, but we have used the Newhaven-Dieppe crossing previously and I'm sure we will do so again. The crossing is a shorter time and the cost a lot less [even if under 60]. As an over 60 you can get a 20% discount if you make your booking by phone. This discount is not advertised or available over the internet.

Ring the club foreign travel number. I have found they are very helpful and can often make suggestions that will save money or improve the trip. Personally we prefer being able to speak to someone to discuss options rather than hope we have booked the right trip.
