I’ll go first!
I’m Rachel, we are a family of 4 plus doggo.

Two boys aged 6 and 10 years

We’ve been caravanning since 2019 and we started out due to the massive cost of family holidays when our eldest started school and we could only travel in the school holidays.

We’d only anticipated summer trips and maybe the odd half term, but that quickly turned into whenever we could as we fell in love.

Our first caravan was a Bailey Pursuit and in 2023 we changed to a Bailey Phoenix.

    Hey, I'm Ruth,

My husband Jonny and I have been together since we were 21 (a quarter of a century ago nearly - eek, we're old!) and we have four children. Florence is 15, Jimmy has just turned 13, Raffie is 7 and "baby" Posie is now 4 years old (but we can't quite believe "the baby" is four so we just don't talk about that and hey, if it's good enough for Neil "the baby" in Gavin and Stacey, then it's good enough for us!

We would LOVE a caravan, or, even better, a camper van (although one to fit 6 is a tall order) but for the moment we just have a tent. We make good use of it and though we've been to Cornwall camping and other places further afield (there was a couple of interesting nights in the new forest with the free roaming horses and cows next to us), we do prefer to stay closer to home in North Norfolk, and why ever would we not when we have such wonderful beaches?

That's our bag really, and the massive draw for the kiddos, the beach. Our eldest surfs, the next one down is a keen skim boarder and the rest of us just love being on the sand all weathers (although it's infinitely more enjoyable when camping if it doesn't rain)!

As a kid my Mum had a little Sprite caravan which she used to take me away in (also North Norfolk mainly) and one day I hope we can have a caravan for our bunch too - something to look forward to now that we've fallen in love with camping!

My best camping tips are: Buy a wagon (a good one like our Coleman one takes a massive weight and 2 children can sleep in it as well as ferrying all the gubbins), eat mini cereal boxes straight out of the packet for breakfast (just carefully open the inner plastic and pour the milk in) and take bedding, as in normal bedding and not sleeping bags. We invested in really great air beds and then we just dress them with fitted sheets and duvets and pillows - makes for the perfect night's sleep! And go with friends, all the kids entertain each other and it's far more relaxing, like making a mini holiday commune!

Oh, and P.S, ice cream is a compulsory daily activity when on holiday so do take advantage of that too!
