As far as I can recall for years now when I open my computer in the morning I have always remained logged in to the Club website from the previous session. Over the last few days I have been required to log in every time I open the computer. Not quite sure what has changed this? Anyone noticed the same? In the scheme of things its not a problem but just strange that it seems to have suddenly changed.

I'm still logged in each morning when I switch on David.

If I keep the window open, that is don't close it with the X top right, then I'm always logged in, if I close the window then next time it will ask for my log-in details which google remembers for me anyway.

David is it your computer maybe? Some power saving mode that has suddenly turned on or some background data security suddenly activated? This used to happen back at work where even if you 'locked' your computer at night it then it was necessary to re login in the morning even with window still open, it had timed out somehow with no usage?

Mine is the same as David's and has been for years. It’s not unknown for it to log me out if I navigate away from the site.
    iPad using Safari.

PS. As Corners mentioned, could it be your computer, David, or more to the point, Norton. I’m adding this issue to the problem you’ve reported having with another forum and wondering….

I always have to log in when switching on although I always log out when I come out of the site. The computer remembers the password for me though.

Normally on my iPad with safari I remain logged in, although not today! On my PC windows 11 google chrome regardless of how I turn off I always have to login.

Can't answer your question David - but I have asked a similar one of the Club but haven't received an answer - can only assume the 'techies' don't have one.

I have two computers - my main desktop, an iMac27 and my laptop - MacBook Air.

I never log off this site on either of them - but I am always logged in on my laptop but not on my iMac. It's not that much of a nuisance because I use a password manager which auto-fills name and password on the iMac but I'm still at a loss as to why the difference.

They are using different operating systems because the rather elderly iMac won't support the latest Apple OS - but even when they were on the same one, it was still the same.

I believe the automatic logging out has something to do with GDPR - or so I was told elsewhere but even that doesn't explain why the two machines behave differently.

I have a whole series of pinned pages in Chrome, including the Club site, which are always there and they open when I restart the computer. I wonder if it is an issue is with Chrome as oddly if I open Firefox I remain logged in. I can't rule out Norton which seems to be throwing up funnies in unexpected places. Its even showing up an error of the BBC Website on Margaret's Windows laptop in Edge. I have used Norton for many, many years and been perfectly happy with it but it's recent behaviour is making me think about a change. Thanks for the comments.

I don't think it can be Chrome, David. I use it on both machines and they still behave differently.
