Camping de Paris access
Good evening.
Thinking of the above named campsite for late May early June next year.
Just wondering if other members had visited and how they found the journey to and from the site towing the caravan?
Cheers.

By all accounts a much improved site.It used to be rough so in those days we went to Camping International at Maison Laffitte and Camping Beau Village at Villiers sur Orge. Access to both those was suburban but not scary, but I am sure a detailed route for your chosen site will be provided to avoid the busy peripherique. Enjoy Paris - fabulous city.

Hi again Murdy, I just read the reviews you mentioned for Maison Laffitte, though you get a very different picture from reviews on the ACSI page. Different people writing with different outlooks on life, and it’s well known that CAMC members who have only known sedate UK Club sites are easily alarmed by first time visits to big cities overseas. One even said, “My wife was in tears” but I am sure you will be fine.

Google Maps are a good resource for checking the route to the campsite, especially street view. You do seem to have go through a lot of urban areas to get there but the same would be true of Maison Laffitte.
As far as reviews are concerned you probably have to read between the lines a bit. If, as ET says, someone is trying to compare with the Club sites they are used to that is never going to produce a positive review? The reviews on UKCampsite are a bit more positive except for one guy who was turned away because he had a twin axle! Even the Club seem to suggest that the site is only adequate but its all about location. An alternative might be to seek a site further out and take the train into the City?

Hi David
Thank you l will have a look on google maps.
l have been looking at the reviews for both sites on ACSI and uk campsite, l read the one twin axle, it’s amazing how many twin axle owners you meet who don’t appear to appreciate their not necessarily going to be welcomed on French sites.
l had assumed because of its close proximity to the capital it would need careful planning and preparation so just wondered if another member had visited.Once again thank you for your help.
Cheers.
