This is an interesting Vlog of future driving licence changes. The EU are working of the 4th Directive on driving licences which contain some interesting changes. Now because its EU legislation it doesn't mean that the UK Government will automatically adopt it but it would probably make sense to take some of it onboard.

Another topic which was mentioned was the up-plating of motorhome weights to allow more payload. It is suggested in the Vlog that whilst you can still do this the DVLA no longer reduce the VED you pay, it is left as it was previously.

We have already gone our own way on weights and caravan licence requirements so hopefully we will ignore anything else. We do however have a more pro Europe government so we will have to wait and see.

Even if we adopt the 4th Directive there does seem to be some leeway of what individual countries can do. Regardless of your views on EU/UK  it surely does make sense that we have as similar licence regulations considering how many Brits go to Europe and Europeans come here?
