Is this a Scam?

I've just received an email purporting to be from the DVLA telling me there is a message for me. To read it I must 'log in' by giving my driving licence number. It just doesn't look right. Has anyone else received this? Is it genuine? Please beware if it is a scam as I suspect.

Googling it there are a lot of DVLA scams about. If you logged on you would probably find you were due a refund and of course to obtain it you would have to give a lot of personal details. As TW says just delete it.

One way of telling is to click on the reply button (but don't send) and you should be able to see the return email address. Almost certainly it won't be a proper DVLA address. I agree with others its most likely to be  a scam despite the official looking email.

If you hover your mouse over the sender, it should show you the senders e-mail address, I find this is a good indicator of whether its a scam or not, but then I have a very suspicious mind.
