North West Brittany in September

Hi there, we are heading off to Brittany in September staying near Perros Guirec and Brignogan Plages.

If you have been in this area at this time of year is it busy. We would like to busk it but not too sure how busy the sites will be. To book or not to book?

Any suggestions for sites will be welocmed.

Thank you

Barry

Have a look at french campsites.com or search for sites as a lot of sites in France shut mid September, at that time of year i wouldn't book a head. Load's to see in Brittany and have nearly all ways had better weather on the southern coast ( around Vannes ) in September.

I can second the previous comment about weather. We've had a couple of Septembers in North Brittany bedevilled by rain and winds. Mid-late September that is.

We've always enjoyed better weather in the South of Brittany.

A few years since we've been so don't like mentioning sites just in case.

Barsar, No it won’t be busy at all.

Campsites in Brittany cut their prices to try to attract customers in September - many sites are in the ACSI Camping Card scheme and a typical September price is often 19 euros (about £16) That covers two people, EHU, toilets and showers, caravan, +awning+ dog.   French motorhomers will only pay those high prices if the location of a site is particularly favourable to them - otherwise they will use an aire.

i wouldn’t book in advance at all - but phone sites a day before if you are anxious.

Thank you for the responses. The reason I ask is that we went on the South coast last year and sites in Concarneau and Trinite sur Mer were full.

I hesitate to recommend sites as one never knows what the other person prefers, but if I were going  to Perros Guirec I would choose Camping Tourony though the site closes on 21 September this year.

And if you do decide to switch back to the south coast for better weather I myself would go back to Camping Pors Peron, though that campsite has the same end of season closing date.
