Switching pitch
Wondering if anybody has switched to a more desirable pitch the day after arrival. We once did it years ago, arrived on a Fri and moved to a better pitch on Sat morning, would it depend on the wardens? We haven't done this on a club site.
Thanks

Many a time.
Just check with the warden before doing it.

We switched pitch last month at Clumber, just discuss with staff and make sure you get the right pitch fob so that they can be aware of whose where on Site. Done it a few times.

How do you know you won’t like the pitch you get on Friday?
If you want to move to a different pitch type, eg grass to hardstanding, it might not be as simple as moving to another pitch of the same type. Always ask the wardens before moving as they will know which pitch types have been booked by others 👍🏻.

yes many a time before SP came along in greater numbers and seen it done many times too. But I would suggest you must/should ask the wardens before moving as the pitch could be being reserved for some reason (long outfit or for a disabled person, even a MH that hasn't left a MH on this pitch sign) and we've never been refused. Also you might need a new fob with the correct pitch number on it.

We moved from HS to grass with staff ok, as we extended our stay. There were no HS pitches left for our extra night, but it was nicer on grass for pooches paws. Staff were very helpful, as they usually are😁

We have been to this site numerous times over the years and always had a good choice of pitch, including good grassy area for our 14 year old order terrier 🐶so we will see when we get there, there are quite a few pitches in the shade or with hardly any grass, I'm sure the wardens will be accommodating if we follow the rules 😀
Thank you all

We’ve done it many times over the years. Ask of course but if the occupancy levels and availability allows then it should be okay. We usually book a HS awning pitch just in case weather is inclement but if good swop to non awning or even grass on arrival for a better choice of sun/view. Sometimes it helpful to staff and those that follow by increasing choice on busier pitch types. Don’t expect the other way round though, from NA to A, that swap tends to be less of a chance. Don’t forget you can use your motorhome canopy on a NA pitch if no car taken.
