Just came back from  just over 3 weeks  in Borrowdale Campsite (pitch 15 actually)  where for the  past few years we have always watched Red Squirrels collecting food for their new brood of kits,   unfortunately this year,  not a one !   Zero ! Contacted local Squirrel group on FB, and they confirm an outbreak of 'Squirrel Pox' has  hit the local population in Manesty Woods hard, nearest sightings in Grange  nearly a mile away.  And it was  WET WET WET.   (No not the pop group! ) just Cumbrian  rain   and lots of it !   Plus  a 'New'  Site Manager  closed the thriving  site  shop.  Not happy bunnies !   Ray & Linda  Jenner.

    Sad to read your post on many levels Ray. Hope the Reds mount a recovery (squirrels not ManU)
