Norway autopass flyt tag

We have purchased  an autopass flyt tag  to use to pay tolls in Norway. 

We are  having difficulty  finding how to pay the invoices as credit  cards are not accepted and foreign currency  payments from UK accounts  are not possible. 

Has anyone managed to do this?

    Any UK bank will transfer money to pay an overseas invoice - and my own NatWest app invites me to do it myself - but in both cases there is a fee to make the overseas payment. 

    But there are specialist companies which will do it more cheaply - for example one called Wise (formerly Transferwise) . If you Google How to pay a foreign invoice it will give you all those options  - if you really feel it is worth saving a pound or two in UK bank costs.

    I get a monthly pension from Norway and found that the most cost effective account to receive this is at Nationwide.  Whether this would also be reasonable for sending money I do not know.

    I see that Flyt tag only accept bank transfers, which is strange.  

    We have used the Swedish Oresund  one in the past, paying via our Halifax free to use  abroad Reward  credit card.

    I had to pay a  bill in Italy a few years back and did this via my HSBC  current account, which worked out very reasonable, and no problem paying the amount in Euros, but I would second the suggestion of looking at Wise or similar companies.

    NatWest app. Here are the options. Second one says Send money abroad. Click. How hard is that?

    Personally , I would be going for a system that allows credit card payment of charges,  much less hassle, and cost.

    Of the ones on offer, I would use the Oresund one.  OH says the one we had before was the Bro bizz, no longer available for private cars it seems.

    The Swedes/Danes are so much easier to deal with than the Norwegians when it comes to banks.  They use systems in Norway that are not common in the rest of Europe, and virtually nothing in the Norwegian banking system is free to use.  Most banks charge you for issuing a debit card on your current account , and even for having an account.

    Not hard, but could get expensive on a longer trip if multiple payments are needed.

    However, if discounts are available on some tolls or ferries by using a particular tag, that may work out less expensive overall, even after UK bank charges.

    I have a Wise.com  (old transferwise) currency account in which you can keep/change currencies on line. They are the best exchange rates and I always get local currency on them so I spend as a local. For instance I had AUD and NZ dollars last year and now euros. I also have a direct debit set up for my Euro Blip and Go toll tag for France/Spain and Portugal.

    It is also possible to use them bank card from them direct into motorway machines.

    Been using them for well over 10 years and no problems. No cost to set up and exchange rates are unbeatable.
