New, but old introduction

Yes a confusing title, and that's because I joined more than two years ago, when I bought a car for touring, and only bought my first caravan in early October, life events delayed us completing our plan.

We live in Shrewsbury, our tow car is a 2018 Toyota Avensis 5D Business Edition Estate 2.0 Diesel, and it was remapped in 2021 for towing after the fitting of a Westfalia Tow Bar/13 pin Electrics, I've only used it in that time to tow a 500kg ERDE SY150 Trailer.

We have other vehicles, the wife has a Citroen C3, I have an 1973 VW 412LS Estate (Historic), and also a 2000 Audi S3 Quattro (Classic).  I do have plans for Track Days in the Audi, just looking for a Car Transporter Trailer up to 1800kg.

Anyway, we recently bought a 2008 ACE Celebration 620 4 berth, I've towed it once from the Seller to the Secure Storage, and I've been busy rectifying snags on it.  Despite being a Retired Ambulance Paramedic, and LGV Driver, and ex-Royal Signals (off-road LGV), having towed a multitude of things, that was the first time I've ever towed a Caravan, although I did once own a Ford Landliner V4, and a couple of VW Camper Vans, early & late bays.

Also have an original tow bar for the 1973 VW, although the 900kg max tow would limit my choices, although I do like the Eriba Puck...

Anyway, once I've sorted the lights and 12v charging system via the twin 7 pin plugs (which I'm going to replace), I may soon see whether Shropshire has one of these Caravan Courses from the CAMC available in the next few months, I'm always open to advice, particularly from experienced caravaners, I may have some experience but I am willing to listen to anyone and learn.

Best regards all,

Wayne

Welocome (back??) Wayne.  All the best for your 'jobs list' for the caravan.  I usually find that as soon as you cross onne tbing off the list, there are at least two others that you add on!!  🤣🤣  Do let us know how you get on with it all.
