New Pricing Structure, Where is the Club Going?
When we joined the “Caravan Club” we thought it was a club run by members for members and in our early membership days it seemed so.
We also thought it gave families and retired people an opportunity to get away on holiday using their caravan (or motorhome) using sites of a good standard at a reasonable cost. How things have changed…
Yes we have inflation and high energy costs (at the moment) but our underlying feel for the “club” at this time that it is no longer a club but more of a corporate entity, who are more concerned with becoming the largest and grandest organisation rather than the best for its members.
The pricing structure has now out priced us for using the sites on a regular basis, indeed most of the time we try to use the CL network however this was never our initial intention more now down to cost and access.
We recently tried to book 4 nights at the Bridlington site for 4 of us and could not believe the cost of £294.00 for a regular pitch with awning let alone a serviced pitch at £313.60. I know this is over the Easter period but even so…
The new Dynamic pricing and general booking structure is shameful for a club ie. members organisation.
We have since booked a 4 night stay for 4 people at an alternative site in Sandsend which has very similar facilities to Bridlington (except better views) for £158.00.
This site is a commercial highly profitable site Not run by or on behalf of members yet is nearly half the price, how is this so?
I have renewed my long standing membership at the beginning of the year but unfortunately unless things change, particularly with the pricing structure we will not be renewing next year.
