It's been announced that Croatia will join the Schengen Zone in 2023. Article here Probably a little bit of a double edged sword for UK travellers as whilst it will ease transit between countries it will now count as part of the 90 days within 180 allowed for UK Nationals in the Schengen Zone.

So its Romania and Bulgaria for us next year (non Schengen Countries) and then finish off the tour in Vrsar Croatia, works out at 141 days in total, 71days in Schengen and 70 out.

Both Romania and Bulgaria are also trying to join the Schengen Zone (luckily for us, were turned down at EU meeting yesterday ) so unfortunately they will soon be off the list for long term travellers as well.

    Hi,
Have read of Political discussions to now address & ease this ‘genuine Tourist’ visit issue. Seems the Spaniards are particularly concerned with their long term overwinterers and Holiday home owners in dismay who are already cutting short / selling up / not going. Am certain after this winter, & cv19 travel issues ending  and so no longer an excuse, there will be an even greater realisation.
We are now restricted to 67 days maximum in January onwards in SE Spain.
