Maxview Vudome problems

Hi, I recently purchased a 2012 secondhand Auto Trail Tracker with the above satellite dish. Whilst I have been able to pick up a signal on occasions it has always been a bit ‘hit and miss’. Can anybody advise me please. I originally thought the set up was manual but I seem to think that it does have a search facility although still not convinced.
