Server Errors again

And all the reports and comments Ro passes on apparently fall on deaf ears. The truth is nobody cares a hoot about it. It can’t be any other or heads would have rolled by now.😖

...at the very least (to be courteous to its customers) the IT dept should issue a note telling us they've fully investigated the issue, they've devised a plan, it starts on xxx date and the service will be fully operational (minus these errors) on yyy date.
surely this item must be on the 'to do' list every single day (for the past how many years...)..
I know we all grumble but even if it's going to cost too much (needs more kit?) or it will all come out in the wash (new system on its way) for goodness sake just give the users a simple, no eyewash state of play.
surely CT users are worth at least this....even if 'the plan' is to never fix it, at least come clean and say so🤷🏻♂️

I've been posting just that for ages now and all we get in response is that they do take CT seriously, which obviously is a lie. If that had been the case they would, at the very least, do as YT suggests above and come clean.

Internal server errors continue almost continuously on the latest activity page for me 😢😡🤐
Or often I look in and find site closed for maintenance.....
I cannot recall any other site I visit that has the site closed so often. Generally if there is to be an offline period its notified well in advance!
We'll never know if the lowering of occupancy/bookings, if these occur - some seem to think they don't, are the result of deposits or the fact that you have an 'window' to book a site and this site isn't functioning.... How the club can evaluate things can't be an was task 🤔

The only time I use "Latest Activity" is when I read through the reviews everyday otherwise I look at the forum section by section and perhaps have less experience of server errors? As far as closing CT for site maintenance that tends to happen after 10.00pm at night which I don't think is unreasonable? Surely most people want to use the entire website during day and evening rather than into the night. I do appreciate that we have far more closures than many other websites but if they need to do it better to do it when they do.

Latest activity is my go to page. In the 5 years ir so I've been using the site and forum I have never worked out the discussions page!
Yes overnight maintenance is certainly the best time from most folks point of view. But I've found it early evening and early mornings too. It can be out 10ish-8ish that should give plenty of maintenance time 😉
Nothing we can do other than wish or leave 😢. I like to think I've got to 'know' posters and enjoy 'what you are you all up to' thread. Which I keep open on a tab, along with latest activity and, I've learnt any other thread I'm currently interested in. Otherwise it's all a shame. We don't need to book sites now so I can't comment there.

The being notified in advance of shut downs for maintenance was very short lived too ☹️

David, I appreciate that this is off subject but I tried to view the reviews in the "Latest Activity" section and found that I could only access those submitted today. Is this a new occurrence as I used to be able to go back numerous days, if not weeks, to see those submitted? I do not often have sufficient time to view them every day and thought, as I had time this evening, that I would catch with what was being said over the last few days.

It’s probably like the discussion posts, Nellie, where a server error seems to wipe out the older posts. Sometimes it wipes our own posting history in our profiles as well so it’s not unlikely that reviews or stories would be affected similarly.

Thanks, TW.That's a bit of a blow as the reviews of the CLs are helpful in identifying potential one for us to use without having to read each CLs review in an area we wish to visit, as I highlight ones that will interest us in the future.

I don't know. I looked at todays reviews and didn't seem to have a full days worth, in so far as I usually scroll down until I see the previous days date. The other day I couldn't get on the reviews at all but the next day I could see two days worth so goodness knows what is happening? Having said that I have often come across the situation where the reviews come to an abrupt end.

There seems to be no formal process (that we are aware of) that records these errors, evaluates and prioritises them, adds them to a sequenced priority list, resource and cost them, schedule them, create a fix and implement them.
for all we know (despite Ro's efforts to convey the info) that ma6 be the end of the line🤷🏻♂️
As someone who spent their working life 'in the IT business' i find this approach bamboozling....

To be fair, we don’t know that is their approach. We don’t know because we have no need to know the work processes - assuming there are any - so most of what we post is pure speculation. That doesn’t make the end result any more acceptable though.

Essential maintenance again last night and today, as in the past, the discussions thread is all over the place with multiple very old threads at the top of the list. I presume it’s just collateral damage from what ever else they were trying to sort out.

Don't know if others have not been able to access the site today, but I have had trouble the evening both on my Kindle and on my Iphone because of "internal server error" again!!

It’s just cleared.
0 -
Yup, have you any idea how long it was down this time?
0 -
Not very long. I can’t be specific.

Cheers!

Still getting them. Sometimes they clear quickly. I don't have a set time to pop in, so can't say exactly when.
Also can't believe how often the site has maintaince!! Yes I know it usually starts about 10pm but often? Once or twice a week?! Most weeks, once very unexpectedly on a Sunday. No idea how long it lasts - usually gone by the following day.
