How much water is in your AquaRoll?
How do you know how much water is in your water container, AquaRoll, Waterhog etc?
Up to now I know when I have run out of water as nothing comes out of the tap. Or to see what I have left, I go outside and lift the container to see how heavy it is and guess how much is left. Is that 10 or 8 lt? How many have gone for a shower and half way through run out of water?
If there was a way to see how much water was in the container at a glance without going outside would that be a useful item to have?
Would you be interested in such a device that didn't require any modification to the container, or touch the water, were it available?
What are peoples thoughts?

Just give it a kick ... 😂 We now have an on-board tank so we can see how much is in it before we shower, but before that just made sure the Aquaroll was full before shower time started.
I suppose an Aquaroll could be been made with a clear part so you could see the level .... similar to a gallon can of oil, but that would only work with the Aqua roll stood on end. 😞

To give it a kick or lift it, you have to go outside. It might be raining or cold? You have to get dressed. Then when you kick it, does that tell you if you have 8 or 10 or 15lt left? You could have a second container, or a third but you still don't know how full the container in use is.

Even if I had an Aquaroll, I'd not bother with such a gizmo. It'd just be another gimmick and something that we've managed perfectly well without for decades. Eyes and experience do just fine👍

To make the problem go away, always use a service pitch
Even without a SP over time you get to know how much water you'll use in set time and the best time to fill up. With us it was after breakfast and after the evening meal.

We don't shower in the van when there's unlimited and free lovely hot water in the nice clean toilet block

I also have a stick with notches cut into it at 10 litre intervals. Don't often use it but it does get used if we are leaving site the following day, for example, and I want to check how much left in before filling up only to empty quite a bit the following day.
Experience tends to let me know.
And yes, CS, service pitches solve the problem.

....I've always taken the line that, when it's empty, filling up. We don't often use the caravan shower, but if we do, a quick check to make sure there is enough water left in the aquaroll, is a that is needed.
After saying that, we do tend to use mainly serviced pitches these days, so filling up the water container is not normal a problem....

Many thanks for all your replies. It seems that such a device may only have a limited appeal to folks without an on-board water tank, folks who exclusively use their own facilities and those who mostly use CL's or non facility sites all year round.
Thanks again for your feedback.

It’s always been a part of camping🤷♀️ Sometimes simplicity is good.
