EU and UK passport holders travelling together

I have a EU Irish  passport and my husband has a UK passport we were wondering if we have to use separate channels when booking in at Portsmouth for a Caen crossing, has anyone had experience of doing this?

    There are no channels. Just hand in both passports and both vaccination certificates (printed is easiest) at one of the Brittany Ferries check in booths
