Well, I did part one of this exercise.
The intro referred to washing/cleaning facilities
and how they could be improved/optimised but the questions were not about that!they want you to interact with the community, as some of your responses can be seen by others.
The thing went live at about 9.30 this morning, when I completed by bit, mid afternoon, I could see about a dozen others. Mix of ages, men and women, from various locations, and different years of vanning.
questions began with basic stuff about yourself, location, length of time vanning. They want you do upload a video of yourself talking about your experiences. What annoyed me was there was no way of moving on without doing a video, so I just did a none video and moved on.
questions about what made you take to vanning, your favourite holiday and why, where you would like to go next in an open world, what do you look for from a holiday. This last one irritated me because you had to pick a photo or photos that best illustrated your type of holiday. They were mainly activity shots e.g. cycling, water sports. None fitted us, but again you can’t move on without picking one. You also described in words your ideal holiday so dont know why they needed the picture!asked what you looked for from a site. A totally free response here.
Thought about the club as a company/brand - in two descriptive words, and why.
why did you join the club.
how do you think peoples (in general) use of site facilities will change post covid. Will use revert to pre covid levels.
I haven’t seen much community interaction other than the same two names who I believe to be either club staff, or staff from the research organisation (both are on line)

It have to be very deep, plus a remortgage on our house too. No good reviews we wouldn't be able to tow it round the country, what with not liking having to stay in the same place for much longer than 3 weeks at a time, and that's at home.😄

I agree with you AD the only difference between. todays chalet (pod). and those of the past .seems to be they are filled with modern day "must haves" it us the sane with our PVC is 15 years old and the modern day model is that the latest is full of gizmos that push the price up

It’s the future, age does not lock us into the past where everything was rosy & never bad it’s our own attitudes that does that. The World can’t stop because some hate change. I love innovation be it EV’s or the future direction of Holidays, glamping is excellent with all its comfort & ‘bling’. Well done C&MC for having foresight, it is all interesting & enjoyable. I don’t look back for happiness just forward. I’ve unfortunately had issues with older folk not knowing when to hang up their keys & I’ve dragged them from local drainage ditches. Future all the way, it makes sense👍🏻

I suppose it highlights the problem of using outside companies. Your mention of Natterersee which would have immediately reminded quite a few members of that wonderful toilet block and it would have needed no further explanation? (Can't that site be booked through the Overseas Touring Section?) Another site, Imst West, not so far away, is a fairly ordinary campsite but the toilet facilities are superb. So if the Club are want to up the quality of their toilet blocks they need to travel to Germany and Austria I would suggest. I am sure there are other countries with good toilet blocks but the two I mentioned are similar in climate to us.

What a pity that CAMC don't read site reviews in general on their own web site, they would gain so much information about sites here and abroad. CAMC have bought Carnon Downs which has an excellent facility block, nothing like the standardised ones they use on other sites. It has separate bathrooms, shower rooms etc and is a light and airy well planned building used by all. I wonder if that compares to the good ones found overseas?
Having said that and reading your posts WTG I'm wondering what is going on generally, all these questions could be asked on the forum from a much bigger participating group and for free!

One way they could improve facilities is by having all doors directly into an area opening from a central lobby, some sites already do.
Most disabled rooms have an entrance directly from outside, this means, when it is cold, you open the door and let any heat straight out. And once inside, most have no draught proofing on the door, so there is often a lot of cold air getting in all the time. Heating can leave much to be desired as it is, without all that.
Further comments on disabled provision would be that many rooms do not look like a disabled person had any input. And that it should be remembered that not all disabled people use a wheelchair.
They may conform with regulations, but are often not sensible in actual use, with things being crammed close together or in corners unnecessarily. Also there is little or no provision of anywhere to lay down any essential items that may be required.

I am not sure I should have an opinion of site toilet blocks as we rarely use them. I suppose 20 years ago Club facilities measured up well against the competition but I guess they now look a bit utilitarian compared to some sites and certainly if compared to the site WTG mentioned in Austria. Some of the later updated toilet blocks are better but would not be considered luxurious. I can't remember where this information springs from but I thought the Club were investigating the idea of individual toilet/showers which could either be rented for the stay or perhaps provided on pitch as an enhancement to service pitches? Any movement down this route will no doubt be expensive and not universal.

Perhaps you ned to visit a site that has been recently refurbished, or a new build Kj before making such a post? When was your last visit to a club site?
The ones I've been to recently do just as you suggest, all toilets, family bathrooms, disabled rooms, washing machines, toddler changing room all from a central hallway. The only rooms that have to be accessed from outside was the drying room for boots and wet outdoor gear, and that sort of makes sense to keep the other areas clean. So it is happening already.

Yes I agree, I've used one very swish cabin, not as good as TW's but full size shower, large tv with play station inputs and a dishwasher. And it certainly was very easy to use, just arrive, bring the bags in and that was it. No pitching, no water and EHU... and of course cheaper fuel prices to get there.

It wasn’t toilet blocks which turned me off Club sites long ago. The last four of those sites we went to were Chapel Lane, Wyatts Covert, Alderstead Heath and Burford - and they were just so soulless, sterile and silent. Nothing happened, no one did anything, no one spoke - in fact they rarely ventured out . My daughter’s boy friend called it the land of the living dead. We decided there were places to go that were more friendly, more socialable - and sometimes more fun. We never went back.

It’s the whole family thing too C, not so much next Gen but 3 Gen👍🏻. Us, Kids & Grand kids too, 2 car job 7 people. It’s good VFM & no upsetting the natives with clogging up of car parks or the roads with Moho’s & Cvans. Yup it’s the future.
