The consequence of Brexit with absurd results

I got a letter from the German post office that the Club, as part of my membership, has sent me a campsite directory. Now the post office is asking me the value of the directory so that they can process it through customs. They want an invoice for something that I never asked for (although nice to have) and for which there was never a specific order. I have just written back to say that it's a free gift. I'm waiting now to see how the issue develops.

Yes one of the unintended consequences. My sister and B in L have been presented with a few unexpected bills by the French postal system. I didn’t know we were due one this year, as the last one they sent covered  2021 and 2022. However, in my case it has sat more or less unopened on a bookshelf, so there is no way I would want to pay customs duty.

I have just changed a cartridge on my printer and I noticed that the recycling bag for the old cartridge was being sent to France. They did state on the bag that the contents were of no value, maybe the Club should do the same?

Unfortunately in the rush to "Get Brexit Done" many things that directly impacted on the ordinary citizens have been overlooked or worse still ignored as unimportant. Maybe over time these little issues will gradually be sorted out?

Perhaps we should have left the EU but nonetheless accepted their standards, have them realise that and continue life without border stress.

Oops - what was that pink thing that just flew past my window?
