Glad we have never had to resort to much storage. Only time we have was for six months when we had two vans, and brought the second one home for some TLC. (Other was on drive at home) We asked farmer where we kept our horse on livery, “no problem” was the answer. It went in with the horse boxes, £5 a month👍

JVB66 not sure if it is of benefit to you but we store at Summerhouse Farm storage site which is between Royston and Duxford. At the moment it is 450 a year for our caravan. They are expanding the site so there may be storage pitches available if you are still on the look out.

    Cheers

This year, our storeage will have cost us £660.... (non-club, Gold Cassoa site).  Fortunately we pay quarterly, so it doesn't come quite as a big hit all at once.  Still a lot of money though...

I just hope the club doesn't hit us again this year with their ridiculous storage price hike.  I store at Ashridge Farm and the price goes up more than inflation every year.  With this, I notice the compound has more and more empty spaces.  Well if they are greedy again this year, I will bring our van home and there will be 1 more empty space.  It's well over £700 per year with no option to pay monthly.  They need to learn that their members are not cash cows and are mostly on fixed incomes.

No doubt though, as they are less of a 'club' now, they will hit us with a massive increase, which in the end will only hurt them.

I mean, we no longer stay on club sites due to the excessive fees.  We will shop around for insurance and not bother with club insurance and now we may leave storage, so who wins? No-one.

they really need to take a look at their costs, over heads and charges

we can't be the only ones to think like this?

Alderstead Heath £795 last year. Taking advantage of members with little choice of where to store in this area. No doubt next year will be well over £800, for a sometimes very muddy compound, with no sign of where the fees are spent.

I have just received my renewal notice for storing my caravan in a club storage compound on Bearstead club site. £855 for 2024. This is an extortionate charge for what? When contacting the CC they try and fudge you of with excesses such as council rates going up , overhead increases. What a load of rubbish. The percentage increases each year are way above the cost of living and with the present state of the economy. I'm a pensioner and the annual charge for storage here is way over 10% of my pension. This is supposed to be a caring club that preach all the benefits of being a member. Bearstead storage site is one of the top most expensive storage facilities the club has. They tell us we can't even rinse our vans down at the end of the season because of fears of flooding the site. Do what ! Its got to the point where I have to park my van in a layby on the busy A20 to wash it down. Why? Its because I don't have a place at home to do it, hence I use a clubs storage facilities to keep it.

Have any of you ever noticed that if you send a letter of complaint for print in the clubs monthly mag. it never gets printed. All due to available space in the mag. But send through a letter that's full of praise and it will get printed.

Stop spending club funds on jollies for committee members celebrating anything they can think of. Give back profits to the members with reduced site fees.

I'm so glad I can store my caravan at home.

It looks like the Club are also following a 3 stage Business model like the Government.

They get you to pay tax when you to earn it, save it or die.

The Club robs you blind when you store it, insure it or use it.

Our storage "bossman" is increasing the charge to £50 per month, from £40 per month. It is under cover in a barn.    Looking at some of the other "tales of woe" I wonder if I'm well off.  This is in the Merseyside area.
