I think perhaps you didn't read my post carefully enough before replying david. I said that already?
I suppose it will depend on the T&Cs?
In any case you site is of course in Europe and as been said many times before such comparisons are often useless.

Doesn't have to satisfy me (and why would you say that anyway?) in any way PD, only yourself.
I can only reply to what you have posted in the past, and you have often said you don't use club sites. If this has changed this year I wouldn't know, up to now of course.

Similar T/C can be applied to sites in the same group, in the same town, in the same country....or not....
just depends on who is writing them. Nothing to do with where the site is.

I guess you were 'satisfying' the person that posed the question?

Indeed, except you have claimed only in the last few days that you can't understand why there are so many differences in prices and procedures between the UK and over there?
But lets' keep on topic dave?

I don't know where you get these ideas from Corners, I have never said I don't use Club sites. What I do reflect in my posts is that I do not rigidly stick to Club sites and while this year has seen me spend more nights than usual on Club sites, in my 34 years of membership I do not recall a year in which I have never used a Club site.

I would assume that currently if someone didn’t show and they weren’t in late night arrivals, or had made contact by the next day, the pitch would be relet. I don’t see why it should be any different with a deposit. Wether the deposit was forfeit or not would depend on the T&C’s.

Hope you haven't been naughty and overstayed your 90 day welcome.
On the subject of deposits, which has been aired here many times in the past, if CAMC wanted to avoid them yet still impose a measure on control it could be done by the simple expedient of taking credit card details with a penalty fee of X imposed for late cancellations/no shows. I have always thought the 72 hour break point too short and should be amended to a week. I would submit that the above proposal would be equitable and satisfy those who are reluctant to pay deposits.

First night stay is only held up to 8pm, on the day of arrival. Beyond that, Club has every right to relet the pitch, including the days beyond, unless Member has contacted them to discuss otherwise. Deposit or no deposit.
In Summer, if the Club could extend that 8pm a bit later, (bearing in mind it doesn’t get dark until 10pm) they might pick up a few very late bookings. Bit difficult at moment given that a human has to book you in, but not out of the way with a bit more technology.0 -
What is it that drives UK prices so high and not...
do you want the link to the actual link to all your post

I get these ideas from your own posts, but you've clarified your position now
getting off topic again PD

I have posted that I support and agree with your idea of credit cad details a few times CY.

As I have just posted on another thread, security is now very much in vogue with the increasing it seems problems with unauthorised? entry to sites,
FM has now had to close its LNA and install extra barriers, for just that reason ,,at busy arrival times a member of the site team manning the first barrier to check off the booked arrivals

It is definatly security, at less busy arrival times on arrival at First barrier you need to contact office via push button speakerphone ,and if you have a booking give your details to gain access, it you do not have a booking until a site staff member has attended and checked who you are ,no access is permitted

I'm not playing PD, that was a post from last night! Almost18 hours ago and you have posted a number of off topic posts since then even though I've asked to keep on topic. Also asking you if you will now start using sites because of deposits (the nature of this thread) in my view is on topic?
I'm not sure what game you're trying to play here in posting 18 hour old posts but I'll keep on topic from now. I'm sure you'll want the last word though
Now really have a bit of respect for the OP and keep on topic?

Unfortunately no matter what booking or entry system is considered/used those undesirables will still find a way to get in and they do. Tailgating or even someone already on site using their card/code to gain access for others are two common ways. Proper prevention would, I’m sure, be extremely expensive and have a knock on for us. Deposits will not stop them in the slightest. However, I am in favour of deposits for other reasons.

The difference is the club is a network of sites and therein lies the attraction for many members. Spending consecutive nights on several different sites is part of the modus operandi of many of those Motorhomers which were attracted to the club over recent years. Very different for that stand alone B&B.
Club sites also provide one night stop offs for those ‘caravaners’ on longer trips to their final destination.

Stayed at a site where reservation is all online vehicle details cross referenced with national database to provide all correct , barrier opens on arrival at site entrance with number plate recognition your name displayed at entrance on a board with pitch number proceed to pitch and set up.
Booking available up to 5.30 pm for same day arrival, queues thing of the past no walking round to find a pitch or going back to the office, owners / staff walk round to check everything ok.
Best system we have found anywhere.
