If folk pay it then the Club will keep on charging it.

What time of year? What type of pitch? How many people?
If it's peak season on a serviced pitch for 6 people that’s very reasonable.
You need to tell the full story if you want folk to understand your point.

You’ve caught peak season prices which explains it. It’s just over £27 up to 16 Dec.
I guess whether you book or not depends how badly you want to go at that time.

Well that is peak, maybe early peak for some but it's the start of the Christmas school holidays and that is when club sites base their peak period on.
Actually the 17th is the only free day in December for HS with awning.
Post edit Sorry WN, you posted that while I was typing.

just go over what was the point of your post?

If you change your mind try Wagtail Park. Their prices are more reasonable.

To you, maybe, but that's the issue isn't it who define reasonable?

Friends of ours have a couple of nights in one of the Club’s luxury glamping pods at Cayton Bay early November. Got those for £50 per night, which appears far better value than lugging a van around, etc..... There are bargains out there, but it depends on where and when you want to go.

In one sense I really can't see the point of debating a price of a club site? The price is what is it, what is there to debate?
Some will feel it is too high, some will feel it is too low (there are more expensive sites for that day - details on request), some like me feel if it's what you want then pay it. What more can be added?
I'm all for rational debate, I even ask for what or who defines a reasonable price but you see that as a challenge but isn't that what debate is? Then the OP's idea of a rational counter argument is to call me sad - ohh the pain of that. Obviously debate can only mean agreement with you and the OP, anything else is a challenge? I could say the same about your posts to me but I don't I respect your viewpoints, I have mine and will post them, I assume that's OK with you? I certainly can understand the idea of having a discussion so let's have one?
What is your viewpoint on this price and what can be done about it as you appear keen to encourage debate? It would be interesting to read them? so far all you have done is make posts about me?

Dependents on wether the CAMC is interested / concerned about what a segment of the membership feel on pricing. ( and yes I know those who post on CT are very few, but the same happens on other platforms) Or wether they are just concerned with filling sites with those who aren’t bothered or just accept them. Personally I would think they would be interested in what all there members think.

A good point and certainly more pertinent than just the headline figure the OP posted. Yes I'm sure that they will be interested in what the membership thinks?
I've said this before but what will the club look at? The few posters on here saying the prices are too high and won't pay them (again I assume that is what the OP was trying to say) or the almost full site?
I don't think it's case of not being bothered or just accepting the prices, I think people want this certain location and dates, and this is peak although the site is fullish through out the year, and decide it is worth paying for. That's what I do I assume others do likewise?

So CAMC Christmas peak starts when school holidays start.......I wonder how many people with school age children go away in their caravan at that time of year?
I would have thought that those away at that time of year are more likely to be couples, possibly at work until closer to the 25th, so why do peak prices start so early?
Our local schools do not finish for Christmas till Wednesday 22nd.

It’s a hard nosed business Steve. Prices are set regardless of who what or where, and all the Club wants/ needs is to fill those pitches. YRP has long been a very popular Site, particularly at Christmas. Club sets a price, knowing it will get takers regardless of how much. It’s not that big either, so does fill quickly. It’s still the cheapest option for York, if you own an outfit.

Well we certainly just accept them and find due to to peak creep, more and more of our site nights are falling in this period. At one time it was fairly tight around the school holidays, now it seems about a third of the year. As I have stated before, currently the CC have exceptional T&C’s, one of the reasons I just accept the prices and don’t often look elsewhere. It is rumored this is coming to an end, as might the CC’s ability to so easily fill sites. Particularly as things get back to normal and folk travel more freely in Europe.
