Also strange how people assume that the 'folks who come for a weeks holiday know everything about rural life' don't actually live in a rural location.
For your information Fisherman, I both live and work in a rural location...I just like to travel to other locations be them rural, semi rural or urban for a change of scenery!
And for further information I have lived in the rural location all my life, so not new to it! I deal with farmers and land owners in my work.
Living in rural locations, working in them, or holidaying in them doesn't mean we can't disagree with certain practices, and seek to to obtain the opinions of others.

They can indeed. You’d have a problem setting a trap on a skin mole though.....Best to consult a GP👍

We only have your word for that and please don't speak as 'we' and 'us'. As previously mentioned I am from a rural area and I don't agree with your views and certainly don't want to be lumped in with them. Please speak for yourself.
We've heard your opinion, which is fine, just leave it at that - you don't need to have a go at the other people giving their opinions.
The subject of my post is the trapping of moles on Caravan Club sites, and it possibly being Caravan Club Policy, and asking how people feel about it. My original post was not asking for your opinion of the people giving their views.
So, we now all know you believe trapping moles is ok - opinion heard and noted!

Again, rats not the topic of this discussion, and for the record I doubt you could get away with cuddling a mole...I'm sure they'd give you a nasty bite if you tried, as would most, if not all wild animals/birds.
You're once again are making assumptions about those of us that don't share your opinion. As I said before, your opinion on the subject of mole trapping on Caravan Club Sites has been heard and noted. If you'd like to start a discussion about rats, please start a new discussion.

It’s an interesting and informative thread, and has raised an issue which may or may not be Club related. It would be good to have this thread stay open to see what the end outcome of contact with HQ is going to be. Given the track record of how some can trash a thread because they dislike some aspect of what it includes, possibly with the ultimate aim of getting it closed, then I think the OP is merely defending as politely as possible the reason for raising the issue. He/she, has my polite support👍

These subjects are emotive. This particular area of North Tyneside/ Northumbria has been designated as a "leave alone area" as far as the natural coastal environment is concerned. Parts of it will gradually erode into the sea. There is also a problem with rats and sea birds. People who like wild life and want to protect it have to make difficult decisions on some occasions. Maybe the moles get saved this time round but you can't have a discussion about saving some wildlife whilst ignoring the rest. Which is why my contributions to this thread will not go any further.

Absolutely not...I have no aspirations to be a Moderator.
Apologies if I have offended anyone. My aim was to keep the specific subject on track, to avoid it being lost.
I brought it to this forum to alert other CAMC Members of what I saw happening on a CAMC site and that I was told it was CAMC Policy.
I wanted to gauge other Members feeling on the subject.
I'd love to talk all things animal welfare with anybody.
I've not engaged in any forum before, so if it's normal practice to deviate off the original subject then I live and learn and will let the thread run whichever way it goes, without further comment.
Thanks to all who have engaged thus far! As promised I will update you with the response from the CAMC as soon as I receive it!

An interesting thread indeed. I've given my view earlier. My regional manager is on holiday this week so I've emailed him to discuss on his return. Hopefully he can get some info from his colleagues in the respective region.
Interestingly he is an avid beekeeper, I see there's a thread about bees.

Easy, in my view the OP brought a serious subject to the table and he was doing what we all do at times in countering off topic comments which attempted to trivialise the topic and introduce red herrings.

I don't know the exact details but it is not the molehills that cause the problem to cattle it is the soil from the molehills getting caught up in the haylage when the grass is being cut. This causes some bacterial infection in the fodder which is very dangerous to cattle. In balance, does one kill a mole to prevent a problem or potentially kill a cow?
