Not easy is it, people have to be prepared to go through so many hoops and then more as countries change their plans!

Latest but not confirmed is the requirement for a Green Card will be scrapped and effective 26th July you will not be required to quarantine on return from Amber listed countries if you have had both jabs.

But you will be required to jump through some hoops to enter Spain, Portugal, Italy, swings and round-abouts.

We just have to accept that we have left the EU laughing, life is what it is and if we are going to tour within the EU changes will be made on the hoof by who ever or which ever country wants to take a pop at us, and we will have to live with them, there ain't no going back laughing

I think you are being overly pessimistic. A the end of the day I think a passport to certify you have had both jabs will ultimately be acceptable across Europe.. Hopefully that day will not be too far away but the Delta virus is beginning to get a foothold in many European countries and this could increase delays.

This was the BBC "explainer" two hours ago about travel in the EU although we still don't know the general outlook for uk travellers. LINK

The tourist countries want big spending Chinese more than they want frugal caravanners and motorhomers

Via Bordeaux? That's the "winter" route isn't it? I'd have thought the AP7 and A75 via Millau would have been better for the tunnel.

agree, but do you know any children that listen to advice given by parents these days laughing, they have now left Bordeaux and hope to bag an early tunnel crossing so should be home early evening, glad they are considering staying for a couple of months rather that us going back with them Portsmouth to Villa Martin in less than 48 hours surprised

just to throw something else into the mix, another headline in the Sun, but I am sure others are running the same story, but the Sun on line does not recognise that i am using "adblocker"laughing

HOLIDAY HELL 5 million Brits to be ‘blocked from Euro holidays because Indian-made AZ vaccines not recognised by EU passport scheme’

Yes it’s in the Telegraph  as well. Doses of the AZ identified as Covishield, manufactured in India are not recognised by the EMA and have been given to 5 million in the UK. Those manufacture here labelled Vaxzevria are accepted. Although we have decided not to go have just checked ours and they are both Vaxzevria, so would have been OK. Apparently individual countries in the EU can decide to override the EMA if they wish.

Seems like there might be some truth in that one, at least for now….

EU is only recognising the Vaxzevria version of the AstraZeneca vaccine that is produced in the UK and Europe. The vaccine is approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). However, the EMA has not yet given its approval to Serum Institute of India’s ‘Covishield’ vaccine.

The ‘vaccine product’ on your vaccine detail identifies which AZ version you have. Mine says ‘Vaxzeveria’ as will most I expect?

Seven EU countries have approved India's vaccines for arriving travellers, sources told the BBC. Covishield is now eligible for travel to Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Ireland and Spain.

Check the batch number if you've had the AZ, the details are all on line. A certain batch number has been rejected for some travel arrangements. Let's hope it gets sorted, your jabs are OK.

If you have printed off the passport, below the QR code it lists all the details. Including if it is Covishield or Vaxzevria.

Yes and on your vaccination card also. The batch number is listed and one of these batch numbers has, at present, been rejected for certain travel areas. Ours was OK.

It's been stated that all batches are OK it's a system review which has thrown up a travel wobbly with some countries.

There was a technical legal reasoning behind this, nothing to do with the press who were reporting events.

Hi David, I hear that Mrs Merkel met with Boris today and is now talking of welcoming UK travelers who are double jabbed?

Maybe she did not get the EU response she was hoping for regarding restrictions.
