This site is very very slow. Anyone else noticing that pages are taking time to complete and worst of all is the delay in what is typed and when it appears??????? Most off putting. Its fine on other forums.

Mine have taken several minutes. This has been an occasional occurrence for some time but lately more or less every time. Even first thing, when the site is unlikely to be busy.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dogs tail.

Looks like at least you can see what you type has now been fixed.

Latest activity seems to have thrown in the towel of late. It returns a server error 9 times out of 10.

I tried to post in the "What have you seen" thread, it never appeared, so tried again, same story, what's going on?

Edited: just went back to that thread and there they both were undecided about 5 minutes later.

Fully agree Geordie, it’s shocking tonight. I had to go through Live Chat to book a couple of nights in September. As a shop window on the Club it’s appalling. That’s an hour of my life I won’t get back😡

My recent experiences with CLs is very positive, as are experiences with CSs from the C&CC.  I like to email them, rather than ring them, as I Iike to have everything in writing.  In one case, I had an email back within 5 minutes, which appears to be quicker than booking the main club sites at the moment wink others were also quick, in replying within a couple of hours.

Apart from that, we'd rather be on CLs and CSs than main sites anyway, so all positive from our point of view laughing

We did, but couldn’t do the dates we need😂Racecourse will work out cheaper in fact with only 5% vat. It’s a Site we do like as well. Just need to decide where to go after Marazion now. But I shall phone to book, be it CL or whatever.....

The separate small area away from main pitches and facilities at Exeter are not unlike a large CL. Usually very quiet and laid back.

Not been to Exeter, so don't know what it's like; the small area away from main pitches sounds good, but no guarantee of being able to stay on that part of course, depending on how busy the site is at the time.  Off peak may be a good time to visit, as we do like to go to Dartmoor, haven't been for about 4 years, so could be a good site before or after.

Oh we know some great Dartmoor CLs, InaD, so don’t hesitate to ask. Exeter is a bit marmite, folks love or hate it. The heathland pitches are grass (good drainage though), so tend to be the last ones to go. They are another couple of 100 metres or so away from entrance, so quieter than main part of Site, and much quieter in terms of road noise. It’s a brilliant Site for dogs, and has superb access to lots of places nearby, including up onto the moor itself. We stayed one night going down, but returned later in same holiday and had a full week there once we discovered how much it suited us. Facility block is very dated (more responsibility of racecourse than Club), but it’s always clean, and showers work ok. We tend to use our onboard facilities so not an issue for us. We had been hoping to stop at The Knole up at Bridestowe, but not got all dates we need, so plan B kicked in. Just a pain trying to get booked last night, but it’s sorted now.

Edit Exeter is a very interesting City, bit of a mix. There are Roman, Medieval and other interesting places to visit. The Cathedral is absolutely marvellous, we usually spend a whole day there. Good independent shops as well, and some great riverside areas, and some nice City strolls to do. It has a canal as well with good cycle paths.

Thanks a lot for those details Ttda, much appreciated; we have been to Exeter many years ago, by bus when staying near Dartmoor, we did like the city very much, visited the cathedral too.  Yes, racecourse sites tend to have the more basic facilities, doesn't bother us in the slightest though.  Have been to Warwick and Uttoxeter in the past, they are similar.  It's a site to think about then, hadn't really considered it before.

A one minute delay between posts makes communications difficult!

It can be longer than one minute, Brue, and has been that way for a long time now. Justin explained it (whatever happened to him?). I find it pays to wait several minutes before assuming the post hasn't taken as they invariably appear for me. 👍

The delayed timings can be seen on my Baltic Wharf posts (I'm just looking in again and on my laptop this time.) If people don't know the shortcomings it must be quite difficult attempting a first post etc. I'm off now, hope it improves later. smile

I was thinking earlier that it was refreshing not to read "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."

AND THEN - "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."
