Great video, I especially liked the race for the best pitch ( see 1.30 on the video). Nothing has changed!  laughing

“And a happy caravanning New Year!”  Lovely thought but, it seems, a little optimistic in reality.  Our ‘van has sat unmoved since the end of September 2019.  After having to cancel our 2020 French holiday, we held our travel insurance in suspension (best economical method), ready to resume our travels in 2021.  Repeated backward steps in when  things will ease significantly, have sadly caused us to finally cancel that insurance and take the refund.

We are in our mid-80’s, and every year lost is very significant to us - which gets me annoyed when the young folk whinge about the restrictions that they are suffering.  My advice to them is to buckle in and follow the rules, to help rid us of this pandemic and give themselves the opportunity to return to the long, enjoyable times open to them, but which are going to be few for the old ‘uns of our society.

I was only ten when WW2 ended, but I remember much of the hardships and strict food rationing.  This lasted for 6 long years and people generally stoically faced up to it.  Yet, with less than 12 months into this pandemic, so many of us seem too weak to pull together for the common cause.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, everybody, and please stay safe.

Absolutely ET....  Always a little apprehensive about changing avatars....  I just might not be able to change it back again, or will keep forgetting to do it after Christmas... 😃

    Best wishes all.

What a year it's been, and still more to come. Hopefully we can see light at the end with the vaccine. On a lighter note, we have ordered our caravan a new Pro-tec cover for Christmas so that will be a nice surprise for it when it comes. We have gone over the top with the turkey size, so turkey sandwiches for new year. Stay safe everyone and merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to everyone and here's to a more settled 2021 when, hopefully, we can all get out and about again.

Earlier in this thread, at some stage, I said I would share a photo of 'Human Buckeroo' taken a couple of years ago, now.... (N.B. before I lost weight.)   Picture the scene..... a large Christmas lunch with alcoholic drink.... you sit down after lunch and the inevitable happens..... you fall to sleep in the chair.  Who hasn't done that?!  But have you family ever treated you like this?.....

Not me, David,  'cos I always end up doing the washing up, and bubbly wet hands don't go down too well when you snore  wink

    ##   I'm dreaming of a white Bank Holiday Monday  ##

Just a smattering, but that's enuff for Brian, it can go and and and melt for all the use it is -- well only about a millimetre or three, so not enuff for a snow marble  in truth.  !!

Bah Humbug, mint imperials so there  wink

No snow here in N.Warks, Brian, but family members and friends further west have had it..... Walsall  Brewood, Shropshire/ Telford etc.  Facebook has been full of pictures today.

I'm quite happy for no snow.  Mind you the river has burst its banks here in Polesworth.  Nothing too bad, but we get that from time to time, although nothing as drastic as the river Severn.  The Anker is a little stream in comparison...

Photo: the grandchildren on the little bridge, on the Abbey Green... and their dog, Buddy... who much prefers drinking the murky river water than water at home out of the tap!!

Well, it looks as if the snow has finally reached Polesworth.  We had a few little flakes earlier, but it looks as if it really means it now.....
