Intermittent Gas Problems
Hi, I’m new to the club and just recently purchased my first caravan a Swift Challenger. I’m having intermittent problems with the gas supply, sometimes it will work fine with full gas flow through to the over and water heater working fine (not tried the heater yet) other times it seems there is little to no gas flow at all, I have tried changing the regulator and seen about the gumming up, the gas hose is very old and does need changing but there dosnt appear to be any sticky when I removed the regulator.
Very strange that sometimes it’s works on full and others not. Using propane as understand butane dosnt pressurise at lower temps. Any help would be great!

Your cry for help was a week ago so perhaps the problem is now solved? If not I would call in a qualified gas technician to check everything for you.

Don't ask amateurs for advice on gas appliances, get an expert to check it out. Sounds like you bought this caravan privately and if you did,did they provide evidence of a recent service? If not get it serviced as you have more than gas to consider from a safety point of view and with no previous experience in caravanning it would be the most sensible thing to do. How old are the tyres for example? You should change them every 5 years no matter how much tread they appear to have. What about the brakes? The list goes on but your personal safety is paramount.
If you bought it from a dealership, I'd be straight back there for them to look at. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some sort of legislation that makes dealers responsible for selling only fit for purpose caravans.
