Any savings made by some members doing just that could be put to better use. A token reduction on subs as an inducement would help migration to digital membership.

It IMHO will be similar if not worse than last year,,with site openings , ,with a shortage of staff for sites ,very many who it seems  are in or near the vunerable age groups .and will need convincing of a safe enviroment to work inundecided

I always contact CLs via e mail if possible. This is due to a few years ago one telling me a price on the phone and when I got there wanting more. When I pointed this out the CL owner said he had not given me the price he said on the phone. Do it by e mail and you have the proof.

....and the S.D. will never be closed for Maintenance.

We use both so would continue to get it if given the choice.

Probably ,but then as the experts advise, the vacine gives quite good but not absolute protection against the virus ,and those it seems who could it be spreaders may not have the injection until autumnsurprised

I suppose to be fair it was fairly dire at all times of the day when we came out of lockdown 1. They did eventually manage to improve things. Hopefully those patches will survive  the increased traffic after the next unlocking.🤞

Most downtime is from 6a.m. to 8.am.and of late it has been minimal.  I'm and optimist, it can only get better.

I have dreadful sleep patterns Peedee. Have been known to book a supermarket delivery slot at 3.30 a.m. Once my mind has had it's fill in doing something it usually complies with my request for sleep.smile

Still zero sign of our copy of the new Handbook arriving  in the post.Letters are now  arriving in sporadic clumps.Has anyone else still to receive their copy?I am minded to ring HQ on Monday and to request that a duplicate be sent as the original appears to be lost in transit.

Our post here is still all over the place Ken. OH got a birthday card four weeks late, and even NHS are sending out texts saying that confirmation letters for some appointments are not arriving! But on the positive front, vaccinations in our area are going ok👍

I hope things go better for you know K. My OH had it very rough three years ago, two lots of cancer, and he threw in a near miss heart attack as well just to keep me on my toes. He’s still waiting to hear about his grouping. Fit as a fiddle now though, thankfully. But fingers crossed he has jab soon, he would be very vulnerable if he got it😱

    Hi everyone,

Just to let you know we're aware that Royal Mail are experiencing delays in delivering the Sites Directories in some areas where they have a backlog, so we're asking members who haven't received their copy yet to wait a while longer before requesting a replacement whilst Royal Mail sort through the backlog. Many thanks.

Especially if you are touring, and in an area with little or no broadband, or run out of data on your phone.  Like Cash, the rumours of books demise and usefulness is greatly exaggerated.

I'll be sticking with my handbook, and always have cash in my wallet. Thanks.

Oh yes, and I prefer my films on DVD.

I was told that I could alter my profile to show that I would like  only the Overseas copy of the Handbook posted each year so saving on the UK copy. I have failed to find out how to do this. Any suggestions please?

You were told wrong. I believe you can only elect to not have the magazine posted to you. Handbook and overseas site brochures are still posted the latter to those who booked with the Club the previous year.

You might be right about the overseas brochures TW, it is a long time since I have had need of them. You can certainly download them or order them to be posted, presumably at your cost.
