I received an email from the Club last evening advertising two overseas brochures - Europe & Rest of World - available for download.  I wouldnt normally bother to download them, but was attracted by the references (inc. picture) to Morocco in the email:  " Whether you're looking to experience the local culture, glamour and lifestyle in the vibrant and historic Principality of Monaco, or immerse yourself in the delights the rest of Europe offers, 2021 is the year to do it."

I assume there were sites or tours in Morocco.  I cant find them - have I just missed them?  Please - which brochure & what page?  If there is nothing about Morocco why put it in the email?

It isn't in the email, if you read it again, it says Monaco, in the bit you quoted, NOT Morocco!

We definitely didn't see any "glamour and lifestyle" when we visited Casablanca. One of my abiding memories was of noise, squalor and probably the most lavish Mosque in the world in a country of extreme poverty.

I watched a television re run of Michael Palin wandering through Fez and Marrakesh and would love to go - but not with a caravan . I would treat it as we treated India - fly in, stay at old fashioned town centre guest houses or small hotels, and ride the trains from one place to another. Am I too old now to do it?

I have been to both Monaco and Morocco, very different places!!! If you want to visit Monaco you can use the campsite Camping La Vieille Ferme (it's in the Club travel book) From the campsite you can walk to Biot Station and take the train directly into the Principality. Nice is on the same line. We stayed at that campsite to visit the Grand prix.

As far as Morocco is concerned it's probably best not to judge with northern European eyes as the contrast between the haves and have nots is very much more marked than probably we can take in. But even the have nots do have large satellite disheswink It is quite a popular destination with European campers and of all the blogs I have read from people who have visited with caravans or motorhomes pay tribute to the friendliness of the locals. Probably best not to expect European five star campsites!!!

For Morocco I recommend a cruise calling at Casablanca and Tangiers. At Casablanca, visit the mosque then get back to the ship a.s.a.p. Tangier is worth a couple of hours.

For Monaco, stay elsewhere and do a day trip if you must.

We visited Casablanca on our one and only cruise. I'll never forget the view from the the coach as we drove through the port, I definitely didn't expect to see a 6 -8 foot long fish on top of a van roof tied on with string.

The Camping and Caravan Club run tours to Morocco but probably not while COVID is about I did a private tour a few years ago with the same guys who ran the C&CC tours and echo DK's sentiments.

We spent 3.5 weeks in Morocco in 2018 starting in Tangier and working our way south via Fes to the top end of the Sahara and on to Tan-Tan Plage coming back via Marrakesh, Casablanca and Chefchaouen. It was a whistle stop tour for a variety of family reasons but enough to make us realise that we would like to spend a couple of months in the country.  We had very little problems and I echo the other sentiments. Everyone we met from the customs official to the local market trader was delightful, helpful and friendly.  The scenery is stunning, buildings interesting and the culture very different from ours which makes it an adventure.  We towed a small13 year old Fendt (7m overall) with a Santa Fe and never had a problem.  Some of the campsites were challenging but we always had EHU and a hot shower.  We are hoping to go back at the beginning of 2022 all being well.
