Repair tear in overhang of awning
Hi everyone,
Looking for advice please. We are hoping to buy a trailer tent as Sam is now four and I think he will love it. I had the best time as a kid on our trailer tent holidays and in my Granddad's motohome. We've seen one we like second-hand, but the only issue is it has a slight tear in the awning. This is under the overhang and has no detriment on the awning itself (have seen pictures). However, would want to try and repair so it doesn't get any worse. Anyone had experience with this?

I've no direct experience but I'd expect an awning repairer to be able to do the job.
Have you checked the ads at the back of the mag, Ro, as I'm sure I've seen awning repairs advertised.

If it's not too big a tear, repair tape works well. I once got a friend to sew up a damaged awning on her heavy duty sewing machine but the fabric was fairly light weight and the awning had recurring weak spots. I would imagine the fabric is fairly substantial on a trailer tent so tape shoud be ok (always take some away with you!) Our son is about to put a tow hitch on his car, he's finally decided to go for something similar for his family, hope you all have fun with yours Rowena! 🤸♂️

There's a company about ten minutes from my home that does tent/awning repairs; obviously too far for you, but I'm sure you could find one close to home.

Lancashire Sports Repairs - Burnley. They did a brilliant job on my Brasher boots and replaced a zip in son's anorak.
