Télépéage Badges In France/Europe
We have a Concorde Credo motorhome it’s measurements are as follows:
Length 7.470 m 24.50 feet
Width 2.290 m 7.51 feet
Height 3.040 m 9.973 feet
Weight 4200 kg
For several years now we have had a Télépéage Badge Euro account with Vinci which allows us to drive immediately through péages in France/Europe with our cars (Class 1), motorbikes (Class 5) and the motorhome which was previously Class 2.
Now we have been told that our motorhome is graded as a Class 3 which is a heavy goods vehicle class. Vinci do not issue badges for Class 3 and they gave us several companies details who issue Télépéage badges for Classes 3&4.
I wrote to them all and they advised that an individual cannot buy a Télépéage badge for Classes 3&4 they are only available for a Company or Group. I am sure there are many motorhome users like us who now are graded Class 3 and would benefit from a badge the long queues in the summer on motorways can add an extra hour or more to journeys.
If I can get enough interest I will ask the Club to consider setting up a group?! I will also write an article for the magazine which I hope will be published.

Hi Shelagh, Basic question-who told you? It may be that the operators have 'caught up' with actual vehicle dimensions.
There is lots of info, some only in French, which explains that the height is the vehicle ONLY and not anything, such as roof racks, sat dishes etc, so maybe that you are/are not over that stricter definition?
Many posters have previously commented that if the price comes up as classe 3 query it, over the intercom provided unless its staffed, and that this will result in a classe 2 being charged.
I have even seen the wording, in French, for such a enquiry
The weight though may well be the issue.

Shelagh, the proper tag for a Motorhome bigger than class 2 limits is called a TIS-PL box. The Tolltickets company can supply them on a short term or long term contract.

Hi Shelagh, We are in a similar situation, having upped our van from 3.5 tonnes to 4 tonnes. We are very interested to hear any information you obtain. In addition does anybody know of any other eToll boxes for other European countries for 4 Tonne vans.

Paul, - you you don't even say which countries you are going to and whether tolls are required , but Tolltickets will advise you as already answered on here. Start with their website then contact them if you need more info.
