Connecting gas to caravan
Hi,
New to the caravan scene and picking up my first caravan on Monday.
I've been searching and I believe that all I need to connect the propane bottle to the bulkhead regulator is an pigtail hose?
I've attached a picture of the regular incase I've made an mistake.
Is there anything that I'm missing? Does the propane bottle also need an regulator too?
Thanks in advanced.
Chris.

Totally agree, that looks like a new van, dont accept the van without one fitted. The dealer is meant to give you a full walk around at handover including the operation of the gas system, that would be difficult without a pigtail fitted, and it should remain fitted.

The bottle is connected directly to the caravans regulator by means of a pigtail connector.
Two types of pigtails are available with differing connections one for propane and one for butane.
The length of pigtail chosen should ensure the pipe is as vertical as possible between the bottle and regulator, this is to prevent liquid gas lying in the pipe which can damage the pipe and subsequently the regulator itself.
The simplest way is ask for a pigtail to be fitted ready for your own gas bottle.
