Caravanning newbie - Discovery D4-4 prima awning

Good morning,

Picked up our new Bailey Discovery D4-4 with Prima wrap around air awning this week and loving our first trip out!  I have an issue with the awning though and wondered if anyone else has this set-up and can help me out?.  With the awning up (it looks perfectly set-up) the door of the caravan will not fully open, it hits against the air pole.  I've contacted Prima who have been helpful but none of their suggestions have worked.  I just wanted some reassurance from someone who has the same thing that it actually does work.  I've a feeling that either I have teh wrong awning or something is wrong with the manufacturing... thoughts appreciated.

    Don’t know either caravan or awning, but presumably it is an AirPole at right angles to the caravan wall, rather than running along adjacent and parallel to it (never come across the latter). If the former, can the awning not be positioned further along the rail, so the pole is not near the door?

     

    edit - just seen photo fo awning shape. Obviously cannot go further along rail. But Prima Leisure ad states “Exclusively Available For The Bailey Discovery” so wouldn’t have thought you have wrong one. Is it possible you are pitched on sloping ground, which has pulled the air pole downwards relative to caravan door? If not, I’d take it back as not fit for purpose.

    Sorry the delay is so late, but I also have the D4-4 with awning and making the door miss the air pole by the door is, shall we say, challenging.

    Through trial and error I can generally get it to miss the door but I would go so far as to say it is a design flaw with the awning as they could have easily positioned the air pole a bit further away from the door like they do on the D4-2 and D4-3.

    But other than that, love the caravan and awning
