Now that’s what I call service
Camping Epernay, a municipal campsite on the edge of Epernay. Yesterday, Sunday, at 6.10 pm I sent an email requesting a pitch reservation for 3 nights towards the end of July. At 6.50 pm (7,50 in France) I got a reply confirming my reservation. Pitch is guaranteed up until 5pm.

Wish I could say the same for UK sites. Trying to set up a UK tour is proving to be a nightmare. Perhaps I should have taken a chance and headed abroad as originally intended without all this pre-booking hassle.

We are hoping for a EU trip end of August start of September, will look to book a ferry/tunnel in August once we know the lockdown is not back, I even renewed travel insurance yesterday in expectation.
I think the problem here is there is no Aire system like France/Germany etc. for us MH's where you just turn up, we do have CL's but they are hard to book as they are not a main business for the owner so they do not always reply to emails/phone calls so it is frustrating. Plus a lot of folks like you are staying here this year due to the virus so sites are more full than usual.

The same here we emailed a site near Calais for our first night stop, within the hour we got a confirmation email back, saying " looking forward to your visit"
Having spent days trying to contact CL's in this country and finding pitches on full sites it was a pleasure to get a response so quick. Still waiting for a reply from 2 of the CL's

Looking to do the same, ferry booked as we should have gone in April returned June, flexi tickets so just moved forward, we are planning to leg it down to Spain, my only reservation is, if we suddenly get a spike in France or Spain, we may get locked out if they close the borders. Not yet renewed insurance, normally use Red Pennant but holding off until we see how things pan out, i see Greece already holding off the Brits until at least the 15th July.
