Spanish Aires in lockdown
Hi all
we have been sitting out the lockdown in Spain but are planning to travel back to the UK in June via a ferry from Santander.
Does anyone know if the aires are open during lockdown? I've emailed a few and a few campsites but no replies so far.
Many thanks

"Until July no one will be allowed to travel between provinces" - today's Guardian on line.
But you have four weeks before the first ferry from Santander so things might change by then.

Hi
Some campsites/aires are opening in the 29th May dependent on which Province you are in, as you go further north around Madrid it may be some time as they are not out of phase 0 yet but where we live in Valencia from Monday we will be allowed to travel around with caution. The country will not get to phase 3 the new normal till the 29th June so i think you must assume most aires will be closed specially in the north, so it may be you have to park in service stations for the night as people are not allowed out after midnight as the curfew will still be in place so no undesirables will be out.

fwiw ....
Why not contact the CMC Overseas for their bang up to date help & advice ?
According to the back patting & gushing double page spread in the May 20 CMC Mag they have helped so very many of their grateful members who wished to return from Spain and are seemingly fully up to speed.
Good luck !

Wow, you will have to tell your story in the story section, have been trying to envisage lock down in Spain vs Lock down at home, home winning just now as our weather has been much better than in Spain and we can can sunbathe, play tennis, fish etc magic safe journey whenever.

most of the Spanish aires that we know of dont have an 'open/close' status as they are often free public spaces....not with barriers etc like some of the more modern Camping Carpark ones springing up where someone has to foot the bill for barrier/cash taking system.

yes it is improving, but my daughter lives and works in Villa Martin and they have had some horrendous weather over the last month cold wet, hail stones as big as marbles in Torrevieja, and of course they have only just been let out after spending almost 2 months in their appartment, and as i have said before this how they enforce lock downs in Spain.
Reports of some bar owners being arrested for allowing too many people into their bar areas and some mayors now threatening to close the bars down again.
